a well painted harlequin army is probably the nicest looking 40K army you can have. I'd just add an imperial knight

hmmm I stand corrected... according to the GW webstore the shadowseer and deathjester are listed under Elites

That's probably just because the new rules don't exist yet (they were elites under Eldar) so they may change following the Codex release. And the troupe master won't be an HQ as he already exists as the leader of the troupe.

More from Faeit! "The Dance of Shadows looks to be everything I was hoping for a Shadowseer to have. It seems the Harlequins are getting some of their own powers in a discipline called Phantasmancy. I have always been a fan of the Shadowseer model, and have a couple of them painted up. Most likely I will have to get a new one as well. Here is a link to the image that was found online imgur.com/xGcPhwq Also here are some image linked by aracersss. imgur.com/a/HfpYs Also here is a bit of information on the new power that was sent in. via an anonymous source on Faeit 212 The Harlequin Discipline is called Phantasmancy. Power #1 is called Dance of Shadows and its rule is as follows: "Dance of Shadows is a blessing that targets a single friendly unit within 18". Whilst the power is in effect, all models in the target unit have the Stealth and Shrouded special rules." AND.... "Images of the new Voidweaver and Starweaver have revealed all the rules for the two vehicles. They are very cool, although quite possibly a little on the expensive point cost side of things. Definitely worth checking out. Here are the links you need. imgur.com/a/poSEY www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/1290/628189.page "

...oh and follow the imgur link at the bottom of the above post to see something interesting in the holo-fields description... I'm not certain but is this different from how the current Eldar version works? If so this may herald a future change for the pointy hats.
and looks like a very different force org:

I'd like to make mention of the NO HQ AVAILABLE of all this. I assume that means you'll probably see the death jester and shadowseer as elites. 3 Shadowseers and a solitaire in the list? Sounds like a plan to me.

yes, it's a special detachment so no HQ's at all. Given the solitaire is unique, it would make zero sense giving you 7 elites if you only have one choice.
and when you think of it, it kind of goes with fluff too... so makes sense.

What do holofields do again? Make Jink better?

In Eldar Codex Holofields provide a +1 to cover save so long as you have moved (meaning 3+ jink or hide behind terrain for 3+ non-jink) but the new Harlequin ones provide a 5+ Invulnerable. Interesting note, this is very similar to Power Fields on Eldar War Walkers.

It's effectively the same as a Venom's Flickerfields now.

I'm somewhat happier about that I guess... Kinda kicks ignore cover in the face but it's a worse overall save so that's nicer.

I *think* I'm OK with it, especially for something like a Fire Prism or something where jinking basically means wasting a turn. It'll matter most for the Wave Serpents - obviously we're all hoping for a nerf to them, but if they lose the 2+ pen-to-glance on the shield AND current holofields they'll really hurt for durability at their price point.

The Voidweaver can fortunately get that once a game 4+ invulnerable. Going to add a lot of survivability on a very important round.
