new rumors!
via Bird in the Trees
- Both Knights are coming via a combined combo kit. - Plastic kit will be released in the short-term, but the exact week is unknown. - The Warden & Crusader will share White Dwarf only rules initially, with inclusion in a codex coming later. - The new designs do not share the “turtle shell” carapace, and have a divergent appearance. - Both models share an up-armored, brutal appearance compared to the Paladin/Errant model. - Both share three weapon hardpoints, 2 arms and a top carapace mount. - Both new Knights share a Heavy Support position in a Imperial Knights army list. - Expect an Imperial Knights “Decurion” formation to be arriving with the new kits.

The question is, in a month or so will we be begging for more Knights to deal with Eldar, or more Eldar to deal with Knights?

The big thing that should get people thinking are these two lines “- Both share three weapon hardpoints, 2 arms and a top carapace mount. - Both new Knights share a Heavy Support position in an Imperial Knights army list.”
Three weapon hardpoints on an already tough model which currently has weapons that are no laughing matter. I wonder if one of them will have a skyfire option, the main weakness of knights right now. The fact they will play a “heavy support role” I’m thinking they’ll have no melee weapons, just a metric crapton of shooting attacks. And yeah Matt, most likely will be a “response” to the gargantuan wraithknight with some insane ranged D weapon as an option.

Well over the past year the big tournies have all been dealing with spam of both Eldar and Knights, so pretty much a third option might be in order soon...lol
I'm so thankful that in our local tournies that we normally do not have to worry about these sorts of netlists... we haven't had near the problems with Eldar and Knights that other regions have had - primarily the states which seems to have a predominance of netlisting at big GT's.

www.belloflostsouls.net/2015/04/new-imperial-knight-rules.htmlRules are being suggested for these guys - definitely falling in to the "I'm mostly a Titan" range - Volcano Cannons are D large blasts if I remember correctly, and I'm fairly sure the Quake cannon was like....9-2 10" blast. NOT 40k friendly weapons by any means. If we think Wraithknights are causing problems these damn things (should the rumours prove true) are going to set fire to any restrictions we want to put in place....

well that escalated quickly.... at least if heavy support would need to be taken with a knights primary... so all you'd be facing is knights I guess if these guys are that expensive... but holy hell GW.... From Faeit: "The news continues on an Imperial Knight release that includes two new units, an Imperial Knight Warden, and Crusader. These guys look large and powerful, with 8 hull points, heavy armor and a single energy field. Check out the latest. Please remember that these are rumors. There were some earlier rumors as well on just what this release would be.. you can find that article here. natfka.blogspot.com/2015/04/imperial-knight-new-model-releases.html via Bird in the Trees on Bols Crusader is armed with: Quake Cannon, TL Las-cannons Warden is armed with: Volcano Cannon, Multi-barreled Autocannon Both models have an optional top carapace missile launcher weapon mount, with multishot S8, AP3 anti-flyer capability Both models are protected by a single energy field based heavily on the rules for the Stronghold Assault book’s Void Shield Generator. Armor Values: Front:14 Side:13 Rear:13 Hull Points: 8 Both models clock in well above the cost of the Knight Paladin/Errant "

From Faeit:
"The weekend is starting to come to a close, and today I received word that we will be seeing not only two new Imperial Knight units, but 3! They apparently are only really different in weapons and quite possibly wargear.
Please remember that these are rumors. We should be seeing a teaser video up sometime Monday.
via an anonymous source on Faeit 212 Three new Knights next week
- Knight Warden - Knight Crusader - Knight Gallant
They are only weapon-swaps, not completely new"

EDIT: The imperial knight codex is no longer on the GW webstore.

Now with 100% more silhouettes from the new knights! Looks like the basic shape is unchanged, they’ve just got some fairly hatefully sized guns on those same frames.

Look for the following on the heels on the Assassins Game:
Imperial Knights are being redone: Products include:
New Codex New Cardset New Crusader/Warden combo kit Knight Transfer sheet (unchanged from last time) Further Chatter:
Contradictory chatter is talking about the possibility of some new kit bits being usable across both the new and older plastic Knights kits. Unknown if this is merely coincidence for aesthetic modeling, or perhaps may open up actual rules/gameplay opportunities… Look for a thicker IK codex with more content. Named character Knights are to be rolled up and included in the codex. (Gernatius and the Ebon Knight?) via Faeit 4-26-2015

okay then.... From Faeit: "There is a short list of releases this week which reveal that the Imperial Knights will get a one week update; Codex, Data Cards, and Imperial Knight Warden. Of course we can see the pricing for these as well now, so here is what we are looking at. This is very much a reality at this point, but as such must remain a rumor until we get some official release information. via anonymous sources on Faeit 212 This Week's Pre-Orders for Warhammer 40k Imperial Knight Codex £ 25.00 Imperial Knight Warden £ 95.00 Datacards: Imperial Knight £ 7.50 " ------------------------ and from GW - teaser vid is up: www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FKhFMpi-pA
