Well yes, and no.
The problem with all of these huge kits that cost a fistful of cash, and a bucket of points to field, is when something that's fairly common mooks it to death for 2/3 of it's points. You can apply the same to things like massed poison shooting, and rending attacks.
I guess the point is, while a lot of these kits are awesome, they'll never really catch on unless they're used in an overly abusive manner. This is also why most tournaments suck balls, imo.

This is also why most tournaments suck balls, imo. Except for the ones that Shannon runs because he's super awesome.fixed that for you it's actually pretty immune to poison.... only wounds a GMC on a 6+ and then it gets a 3+/5+FNP Grav is a counter to it, but with shield generator and possibly interceptor throwing in, the surviving grav unit (centurions perhaps) still is needing to get through a 4+/5+FNP and eight wounds... not a guarentee by any stretch (even if they get a full 15 wounds on it - unlikely - you're still looking at it surviving and utterly destroying said unit in retaliation) I like the fact that it's actually reasonable with this point value, opposed to the OTHER GMC we've seen released for 7th (hint - it rhymes with rapeknight). So not a must-take-oh-my-god-it's-broken and also not a model to gather dust on the shelf. There are counters to it for certain, and it seems about as survivable as an imperial knight overall... which makes sense as they're pointed fairly close to one another. The IK is better in combat (as it should be) and the Stormsurge is better shooter (as it should be). now a squadron of GMC's I can see getting fairly damn abusive, especially with the anchors for double shooting and whatever shenanigans that Tau are going to get (GET MY BROOM!) and you know there'll be shenanigans

Personally I think the anchors should be FAQ’d to actually have a handicap as well as a bonus. Right now there’s no reason not to use them.

Well no stomp can be big for the d weapon one. As he wants to be close and stomp would be the only thing that makes it any good in close combat.
But yes why wouldn't you use it. Expecially if you want it to be a shooty platform.
It should have been a walker and the anchors let you fire at full bs even with ordnance or something

I'm Happy that Tau are releasing in Oct now and not August as I'd hoped. Since the close to Christmas this thing drops the better! ( someone could be the BEST Secret Santa EVER!!!) Overall it's looking pretty strong. The fact that these bad boys get 3 support systems is nutty! I mean currently the 360 pt model becomes 370 pt model to gain interceptor AND target lock so the unit of them can split fire to different units. Looking to make it a round 400 pts, maybe some sky fire or over watch as BS 2 on it would help.
I hate the price tag but I actually like the model a fair bit. I think 3 of them is a little crazy since that's the price of a new army and eats about 1000 pts off your list but 1 of them seems GREAT!!

Maybe not over watch by default but if the Tau keep similar upgrades it could pick up a supporting fire upgrade maybe that will allow it to over watch. Just like their vehicles can.

So if a barrage weapon hits in the cockpit, does it get Instant Death?

The big forge world one has a rule for him to overwatch with his two twin linked burst cannons and two twin linked smart missile systems Sent from my SGH-I337M using proboards

From Faeit:
The Ghostkeel is next week's release, and we have the pricing and hints for the following week! This looks exciting and I can't wait to get more into the details of what the Ghostkeel is, but it appears to come with stealth drones..
This is early information as always, so must be considered rumors. However, it does come from excellent sources that are right on it. via anonymous sources on Faeit 212 XV95 Ghostkeel Battlesuit is the only release next week. The box comes with 3 miniatures, the Ghostkeel and 2 stealth drones costing £ 45/ €60/ $75 USD/ 90 Can/ AU 125/ NZ 150 From what I can see compared to other models near it it's very big, maybe not riptide size but very close. "Hints" for the week after can't be any more obvious lol -"The third sphere expansion hits the Damocles Gulf!"

via anonymous sources on Faeit 212 The Ghostkeel is an elite choice that comes with 2 stealth drones for each Ghostkeel. It's a Jet Pack Monstrous Creature, and you can take 1-3. It has the normal Tau BS 3 with 4 wounds, but only a T5. However the 3+ save with +2 to it's cover save outside of 12" should make up for it. The main gun- Fusion Collider is an 18" S8 AP1 melta blast gun that can be exchanged for a Ion weapon that is more infantry based with a S7AP4 Assault 6 gun that can overcharge for additional strength and a large blast. It also has a twin- linked flamer that can be exchanged out for a TL bust cannon or fusion blaster. The model has gear that doubles the cover saves to a max of +2 but also gains shrouded from it's drones. It seems powerful with stealth, shrouded, and the limited doubling, but I have not had time to read the details to see what stacks. Two support systems are also allowed for upgrades. Cost wise its a little over a hundred and a quarter.
