Well the first Warhammer Fantasy tourney for Kingston in 2011 will be on Sunday February 20th!
Sunday February 20th - Kingston Gaming Nexus
This will be a tag team event - it is not necessary to have a partner prior to signing up to the event, as it will be random assignment.
Sign up is at 9:30 AM - first game starts at 10 AM sharp! If you want to play though, as we need to figure out teams -> you MUST arrive before 10 AM!
What you need:
1200 point list -> following all the rules of the 8th ed BRB
All gaming supplies necessary to play (dice, books, templates etc.)
At least two copies of your army list (one for you and one for your opponent) - we will be checking to make sure it's a valid army list so please ensure that all point cost / upgrades are written down. Army builder or Typed is preferred... me trying to read your handwriting slows down the whole event!
What is different:
Your partner will not only be randomly assigned, but it will also change each round. (yes I'm crazy enough to actually try organizing this!) Therefore your tactics, combos and pretty much everything will change for each game - This will not only stop those nasty combos that inadvertantly occur, but also give us the chance to partner up with different people throughout the day! You score and win prizes as an individual... there can be only one! As much as possible, newer players will be paired up with experienced players too!
No comp scoring. At 1200 points and a tag team, it's far too difficult to figure out what a cheesy combo is. Partners are not pre-selected for this, so you can't rely on anyone having a combo you may need anyways.
The magic pool dice are shared with your partner.
Scoring is INDIVIDUAL... so if you are partnered with someone who perhaps isn't the greatest sportsman on the planet, you are not hurt by their scores... Playing nice is always rewarded!
There is ZERO painting requirement... you have to assemble your models, and they must be of the correct type (no saying that goblin is actually a giant!) but a lovely shade of primer black is perfectly okay... just don't expect to win a painting award!
There will be twists and turns throughout this tournament to try to keep things interesting... hope to see everyone come out for some fun!
