I have a thought related to this event. Would it make sense (or be interesting at all) to have people post up what army they are planning to bring to the event? It would give people an idea of what possible team-ups they would have....
Not sure if that would be a good or a bad thing, but it's something to think about.

Hey dudes,
ya got room for a mangy, county player??
I think I can get up for a day.
Put me down as a tentative. I'm sure Frank will shame me enough to get me to show.

Hmm, so how silly does 30 Spears, 40 Swordsmasters and a basic hero sound? Hahaha. I'm wracking my brain on what the silliest thing I can do is.
Or maybe field all 30 Fast Cav I own and just be a massive annoyance.....So many possibilities!

30 high elf fast cav would be a laugh - one panic check away from running off the board and with T3, 5+ save, it is only a matter of time ;D

Oh they'd be in 6 units! 'Cause you know I'd be failing the first panic check that I'd have to take...

I will be finalizing the scenario this weekend (yay for not leaving it RIGHT til the last minute!), so wanted to put it out there that if anyone has any ideas for a cool concept... or really liked a prior scenario/objective/theme from a past tourney - feel free to post it here for me to try and work into the mix...
And it's definitely not too late to sign up! Would really like to see a few more if possible, just so we can have as many varied teams as possible... call your friends... get them on the board... get them signed up!!!!!

So, what was the final decision on the Magic...do we have restrictions??

It's actually been pretty divided as to what people want to do.... To be honest, we've been playing with no magic caps for the last month or so in preparation for warmasters... and I'm not really hearing a whole lot of "these games are no fun" and "I don't want to play like this" ....and I did manage to turn an empire mage and his friends into clanrats last night for the first time though was more funny than anything else.... well to me anyways So I think I'm almost really to admit I may have over-reacted to magic in 8th... don't get me wrong - there's some brutal, brutal things that CAN happen with magic... but is it more brutal than what a horde of executioners are going to do to that same unit when they hit? no, not really.... there's some elite units (cough cough high elves) that simply evaporate things when they hit them.... if warmachines (ie: grudge throwers, lightning cannons) weren't beefed up too, these units would just lawnmower everything... and if magic wasn't capable of putting a dent in those units - ditto.... So I'm starting to come around.... I certainly don't enjoy having my S3 skaven hit by dwellers (especially since they're BIG units!)... but in the same respect I'm sure my elven buddies don't enjoy a doomrocket hitting the middle of their units... and when my grey seer's unit was cut in half by a grudge thrower last night I had a definite "oh noes!" moment... is magic over the top? yep.. I still think so.... but I'm kind of thinking that everything in 8th is more "over the top"... maybe this is just the new reality and we should eat our pretzels and drink our beer and all laugh together when the grey seers blow themselves to nothingness... I don't know... I was really firmly in one camp, and now I'm starting to not be as much opposed to it.... but as usual, I'd like to be as democratic as possible... so I will go with the general consensus.... maybe I'll add this to the existing thread about the magic caps too... as the discussion should probably be there!

you can have my beer i love pretzels and cant really drink so it works lol Oh sure, you can't drink. That means I have to drink even more to compensate and since 80% of booze is taxes and 80% of taxes support social programs, I guess I'll just have to take another one for the team and drink up to help all the unemployed orphans ;D
