Another head scratcher… Apparently Tau Commanders ignore the hard and fast rule about units not from a formation gaining bonuses that apply to said formation…yet Marine players who mix squads don’t get to count either of their chapter tactics…
Q: Do Drones become a scoring unit if joined by a Commander? Does anything else carry over if a Commander joins a Drone-Net unit? A: While the unit includes the Commander, it is a scoring unit. Special rules that the Commander and the Drones have will be conferred or otherwise as for any other units. For example, a Commander that joins a unit of Drones from a Drone-Net will benefit from their Split Fire rule while joined to the unit.

They're space Communists. They share everything.

Does that mean the dronemander also then has interceptor? And jink? And +1BS? Those are also all benefits of the Drone-Net formation.

I assume they mean the conferrable ones like split fire. But who knows. People will probably run with it.

No, because all those rules don't confer to units. Having a bike in a deatwatch squad doesn't give the vets the ability to Charleston around bullets too. Splitfire is actually one of the few rules that it makes sense to work across formations. The drones simply split their fire away from the commander. It's not like this gives the commander anything new. An upgraded form of split fire is 5 points for suits.
Jink is per model, Interceptor is per weapon, +1 BS is only for Drones.

looks like knights firing arcs take a big hit. each arm only have a 90 degree angle. there are now Massive bind spots on that dude....knight positioning is really gonna have to become a art.

I get it, I kinda assumed that what it SHOULD be is about 110%. so it fires 90 to its side and then all the way cross the chest until it hits its own hull. Like it was doing the always popular robot dance move.

Also I'm not sure if I am blind but does any one know where I can find the FAQ to the Crimson Slaughter codex? I didn't see it on the list of "all faqs"

Good News Matt, GW cleaned up Alpha Legion. New addendum to the FAQ.
‘Cult Uprising: When a unit of Chaos Cultists from this Detachment is completely destroyed, you may add 1 to the dice roll for the A Tide of Traitors special rule when determining whether or not a new unit is placed into Ongoing Reserves.’

That's going to be really good at Club championship. Seeing as that means 66% of the time you will still have troops at the end of the game.
