marines are pretty damn safe... their leadership is 7... therefore the first casualty you take a turn cannot even cause a model to flee (as you only roll one dice and add casualties - ie: roll a 6 and you're safe unless you lost two and you'd lose a guy)
terminators are even safer, with a two casualty buffer (and basically can take FIVE wounds now without even having to take a break test given they're two wound models)
So morale is pretty much exactly how it is in AOS. makes me think fear/fearless will be totally dropped... and go to the AOS model of traditionally those units having a L10.

If that’s the case then… hahaha, suck it Ultramarines; out Leadershipped by a unit of mindless Plague Zombies.

I think it's a wonderful system. Thoughts on how ATSKNF could potentially work? Maybe no negative modifiers, like the specifically mentioned hemlock. Perhaps they test on 2D6, take the lowest.
Such speculation!

This morale check I like. Should be quick & clean as long as they don't louse it up with a hundred or so "except when ....".

Such speculation! I'm thinking that if ATSKNF exists at all anymore outside of the "fluff" it would likely be ignoring negative leadership modifiers to battleshock tests (if that's what they'll be called - ie: like AOS)

I thought marines were Leadership 8 with Terminators at 9... are they changing that?

I thought marines were Leadership 8 with Terminators at 9... are they changing that? Ya in the unit profiles page they teased Marines were 7 and terminators 8.

That seems like a pointless change, but oh well lol

That seems like a pointless change, but oh well lol Not really. The whole way morale works has been completely changed, so keeping the same leadership values wouldn't have made sense.

I was more meaning that changing morale to such an extent seems to be over the top as the 2 dice leadership system has worked for how long?

As someone who's been playing AOS since launch, I've gotta say in practice I really like the way battleshock works. It makes casualties less "all or nothing"... your unit weakens (some run, drag off wounded etc. ) but it's not just simply wiped out.
It's simple, it works... it effects everyone equally - within the bounds of leadership - casualties. you can easily have diversity just based on the difference in one score, without needing a host of exception rules.

I wonder if daemons will have the same rules for battle shock as in aos.

Wowwee, those are some hefty minimum requirements. None of the examples shown have a LOW slot either. I bet they're going to make it pretty darn tough to bring them.
On the flip side, I can already see multiple ways to fit my army into a couple of those. It will require more troops than I traditionally like to take, but my Fast Attack slot is going to be really happy!
