looks pretty clear to me... in your death guard detachment you can take anything on the list on the right. It then gains the "death guard" as it's <Legion>. If it's not on the list, it cannot be death guard...
As long as you share a keyword you can add other units freely so you can add anything else that shares a keyword
so feel free to add that chaos vindi.... a loyalist one however... not so much!
certain abilities and bonuses affect only death guard, so your vindi won't get those bonuses... but if they share a keyword you're good to go for including them

The All is Dust rule looks really disgusting… +1 to your save if the damage characteristic of the weapon is 1 and ignore the -1 to hit from moving and firing heavy weapons. Making them resilient but not impossible to remove from the board like they were when Traitor Legions dropped.
Magnus gets a +2 to all of his casting rolls and can manifest 3/phase; from the extreme toning down of Psychic powers hie ability to do even that is intense. Add to it that he’s got 7x S16 Ap-4 attacks doing D3 each wound means he can crush a knight in 2-3 turns of average combat and stand up to the beatings hell get back with T7 and 18 wounds rocking a 4++.
The above beastliness makes me hopeful that Mortarion will be a CC monster (as he was never a psyker).
Funny end note… This was the last sentence of the article.

Apparently they never figured out how to add a Cyclopia Cabal to their Sons armies for 3++ rerollable shenanigans. (Which I’m happy is gone.)

3++ reroll able. Hell i played terminators with reroll able 2+/3++ while in close combat.

In the stream today, GW mentioned that units like the hellbrute and defiler got the Disgustingly Resilient rule. They said it was included in the Death Guard keyword
