I love that there's only three of them pictured.
They broke canon in the video though as once they were chosen for the Deathshroud, the members were never again allowed to speak to anyone but Mortarion and (at least) a pair would stay constantly within 49 paces of Mortarion himself.
I am disappointed that they made him a Psyker... just couldn't leave history alone... Mortarion was one of the staunchest anti-psyker voices out there. Typhus actually suppressed his abilities while in the presence of Mortarion and in 30k; if Mortarion is on the board, Typhus can’t use his psychic powers. The Lantern looks cool and I’m glad it’s still there, obviously the scythe had to be there though I had hoped for more from the Psosphex Bombs, they’re such a cool item in 30k, apparently they don’t keep well.

Typhus actually suppressed his abilities while in the presence of Mortarion and in 30k; if Mortarion is on the board, Typhus can’t use his psychic powers. The HH novels are dealing with this fairly well. There's a bunch of stuff regarding Mortarion slowly being exposed to forbidden lore and the absolute truth of the Warp. He's got some accidentally possessed guy chained up on the Endurance, and is whispered to in his dreams and the like. He's watching the other Traitor Legions get horribly corrupted, and is convinced that he can keep the Death Guard pure, but that study and use of these powers are going to be the way of it. He hates himself for dabbling in it, but seems to go on an almost alcoholic pattern of disgust and avoidance followed by a giant binge of diving in to studying it. The series isn't wrapped up, obviously, but it's made clear that all the Primarchs at least have psychic POTENTIAL should they care to study things, and that his desire to master the things he's being made aware of are leading him in a bad direction. I imagine once the Legion actually falls to Nurgle it'll be worse...his purity has been taken from him, so why the hell restrain himself?

Nice! Thanks for the insight Matt. I obviously haven’t read as far into the HH novels as you are and I’m glad that their decision makes sense fluff-wise.

Cool grenade harness single elite model dude. Looks like single elites will be a flavor of the Death Guard and can lead to some interesting combos. Attachments:

Time to imagine up some cool conversion options for this guy based on current models…

How's everyone feel about the new typhus? I mean, he definitely fits with the whole new aesthetic the Death Guard have got going for them, and again, maybe it's just down to the way he's painted, but I'm not really sold.

I’m still really on the fence about it to be honest. I feel like his pose is too goofy to be taken seriously no matter how beautifully sculpted the model may be. Typhus should be menacing, not waving his scythe in the air like he just don’t care…
If I do get it then I’ll have to do some (ref. a LOT) of work to get it to a place I won’t laugh at. It’d be interesting to see the size difference between my old sculpted version and the new one as my old one was bigger than the existing Typhus.

Just putting his arm facing down would be a ton of work since he has so much stuff hanging off him. I think that would go a long way in being less goofy. I think the best bet would be to bash his kit together with some deathshrouds. My opinion may change when I see the sprues though. *Edit* I think even just re-posing his left hand in a more nuetral position and in a fist would help. Right now he's kinda got a case of the "Jazz hands"

And dream of a better life, where we’re all equals. Lol.
Yeah. Deathshroud with some greenstuff would be a good fit I’m thinking. I may have to buy a box and try it out to see how it goes because I’m not buying that thing… At least the Deathshroud look menacing.
