Yah, I think when they were thinking up the re-roll shots thing they were thinking of Hellhounds and Sentinels with heavy flamers, but it buffed ALL the tanks. I think it's a very powerful trait, especially with the amount of variable shot tanks the Guard can bring. Basilisks will greatly benefit from this.

Imagine trying to charge a couple punisher Russ's. The first one hits on a 5+, and for one command point the second hits on normal BS! Youch. Thankfully for myself, I've been using stealth suits as very effective tank traps, and the -1 to hit also applies in overwatch.

It's the Grinding Avance LR trait that's going to be a big difference. Also there's the fact that they apparently got cheaper. And let's be honest, 'traditional' Guard armies tend to be built around the notion of forcing the enemy to come to them while being shot at every step of the way.

Oh yah, definitely looks like I contradicted myself. I thought the regiment trait said 5+, making it very clear it could be modified. However, it says "add one" and stealth field says "subtract one". Do you think they cancel out? I know that standard, unmodified overwatch isn't affected by -1 modifiers, but I'm not sure about this.

10 to 1 it'll pop up in an FAQ.
Though from what I understand in the current rules if you can see the target there is always that ability roll 6 to wound/hit no matter what the pluses and minuses to strength/skill etc are.
So personally I'd rule it as the -1 negates the +1 but until we get our hands on the book and check the details that presumably aren't mentioned in the preview, it's anybody's guess.
