it is a little ambiguous as it says overwatch says it "is resolved like a normal shooting attack and uses all the normal rules except that a 6 is always required for a successful hit roll, irrespective of the firing model's bs or any modifier"
so really rules as written the plus one would do nothing. as a 7 wouldn't hit, a roll of 5 plus one would, lol becuase if it allows you to add one, overwatch goes on a 6 not a 6+.
im sure they will faq it. the start that turns it to a 5 tho. thats huge cause it literally turns it to always a 5 not mods (again unless they faq the 6/6+ thing)

Repel the enemy is hatfull. Being able to shoot any weapons while 1 inch or less then an enemy or shoot enemies even if they are an inch from your other units.
Hello conscript blobs holding stuff the rest of the army can shoot it
Edit: never mind only works on the unit within an 1 but still.

I didn't notice the unit can only target the unit within an inch of them. Still really good. But not at hateful as I thought lol

Digging those rules a ton - having watched enough Fire Warriors, the difference between 24" and 30" is huge - Vostroyan Lasgunners will be more than just fodder to protect the heavy weapons!
I'm hoping the changes to conscripts are something like "You can only ever have one unit of Conscripts between 20 and 60" and they lose d3 models every time they should lose one from morale or Commissars or whatever"
Then you can have your big space-eating blob, but they're not going to make up the whole damn army.
As it stands now they're just so so superior to regular Guardsmen, and it really shouldn't be that way.

Ya this is a weird example of the BUFF bat hitting the AM hard even tho they were on of the strongest coming off the codexs. I like the changes but I hope they know what they are doing...dont want this to be a 6th eldar codex all over again.

I'm hoping commissar's buff can't work with conscripts. Problem solved.
they aren't disciplined trained troops, they're rabble, convicts, and probably willing to face a commissar's bullet a lot more readily than a horde of carnifex barrelling down on them!

That would be a great solution to the issue. I love the tank buffs and making the guard feel less hit or miss with all those d6 rolls for number of shots. Just need to tone down the effectiveness of body count spamming with your super dirty cheap guys, just use your normal cheap guys...

always thought the Vostroyan and Valhallan models were pretty damn cool with the "we're seriously not Russians honest" imagery.
wonder if they're planning a model update to plastic? They've been linking to their direct order metals on the various factions... and they're showing their age for sure... and there's competing companies who do Soviet style guardsmen pretty nicely.
with powerful rules for these non-plastic factions, I'm wondering if they've got a surprise up their sleeves?
