Wow, people were already saying baneblade tanks were amazing in combat. Now they're pretty much the best thing in the book! Roll up, "Crush them!" and then still be able to shoot everything. If you're valhallan, you have to get that baneblade chassis down to like 6 wounds before they start sucking.
thing about these so far is that they're all so good, it will be tough to pick just one! That's what you want though. I wonder who will get the short end of the traits stick *cough* iron warriors/imperial fists *cough*
I guess you could mix up the traits between your detachments. Have your spearhead be Valhallan or Catachan for either resilient or shooty tanks, and then Mordian in a battalion for the better overwatch when clumped, or any other combination.

'Fire on my Command' -On rolls of 1 resolve attack on a friendly unit unstead- Wow the Valhallans are pseudo-Skaven.
And thanks to that Stratagem, they can resupply any destroyed infantry unit. Crouse depending on what unit is destroyed and where the battle is taking place, the reserves might have a bit of a hike from the deployment zone.
Though 'Crush them' has the potential to really shake up the standard trick of mobbing vehicles with infantry.

What I'm reading I like. Makes me think my DA may be joined by an AM contingent at the Annual Championship.

I listen to a good couple podcasts, some narrative related, others with a more competitive stance, and most agree that AM are the army to beat at the moment.
I'm wondering if we'll actually see some point increases with the codex. As we've seen with previous faction focuses, GW tends to print these like white papers, only showing off the good (with the exception of the conscript nerf, which the community was very vocal about). Perhaps there will be some other hidden nerfs out there.

Kurov's Aquilla seems pretty awesome Yes it does, especially against other guard (who can easily fill a brigade for tons of command points) or the Ultras, with their own dirth of command points. The sword is cool too. Before I saw it, the warlord trait seemed a little silly, but with that +2 strength from the sword, and the +1 to wound for the trait, you're wounding most power armour units on a 2+ and denying them any save! D3 damage will even worry characters and primaris. Coupled with an extra attack, and that's a pretty mean, cheap package.

Kurov's Aquilla seems pretty awesome yeah especially when your warlord is an Ultramarine. ...

...interesting point in the comments... it's been a 200 year timeline advance and all the human heroes and Nork are all still alive!

There’s some canon knowledge they’re forgetting here; The High Lords of Terra have been in their positions for nearly as long as the Astartes have been around, they just receive regular rejuvenant treatments in order to un-naturally prolong their life the same as many other “persons of importance” to the Imperium of Man.
You could always argue that Pask and all of the other heroes of the Imperium aren’t important enough to receive said treatments but then again, maybe the original Pask is dead and they just picked a new guy and said: “Right, so you’re Pask now because we need a new one.” Because the Imperial Guard are really all just Alpha Legion Conscripts anyways right?....

well, given the choice between having characters live outlandishly long, or taking them out of the codex, I'm sure most players would rather they stay.
