this guy seems like a must take wraithknight BFF... just runs behind him healing him each turn and adding a free deny each enemy psychic phase... 70 points of yes!

I'm happy that in the edition they placed that " a model may only be 'healed' once per turn". Really helps toned down the abuse while still giving the utility to an army in the right place.

ooooh.... expanded fexes... unrealistic excitement building....
if I build up expectations just as high as the last two versions of the codex I should be fine... right?

Yeah. It's nice to see that carnifex biomorphs that come in the kit actually might mean something again. And yes it is hard not to be a little excited. If the codex is good - not OP, just good - it would be almost 8 years since nids have had a good codex.
It's only a few weeks away now!

The thing that has gotten me excited about this the most is the fact that they actually appear to be listening to player feedback and have done a good job thus far with the books that have been released. For nids to NOT be on par would be a big anomaly this time, whereas in the past there were a lot of "have" and "have not" armies.
it actually wouldn't take THAT many changes from the index to make nids on par with everyone else. The index alone shows that they've headed in the right direction.

synapse and shadows getting a better range is decent (shadows is pretty meh though still... a -1 doesn't do much at all) instinctive behaviour is at least far less punishing now... gives a drawback while not being completely useless... I approve. so first peek is... I guess okay? Not great by any means, but I assume we'll be getting more stuff to be excited about beyond "hey you're punished a little less for having all your synapse die and the range went back to where it was in 7th edition before the index nerfed it even further"
