Yah, a unit of 30 would cost almost the same as that full 2000pts custodes biker army lol.

I can see the great bows being half decent with the combination of a few good buffs. They can move fast and have half decent range. Probably have a threat range of 38"(14"+24)". But they will be glass cannons. probably 2W and a 5++. Tzaangors start with a 5++ and can be the target of that +1 invul save from the CSM book. Could run them with a Herald of tzeentch of a Disk or a DP to give them reroll 1's to hit and take the warlord trait from the daemon book that gives them reroll wounds.
Though I'm still thinking a 30man pink horror squad with a vortex beast near by to give them either +1S or -1AP to their shots is better. The Enlightened just have more speed.
But 30 man unit is a little crazy. 450$ for 30 models would be crazy but it could happen. AoS used to see them in droves since they were so good and cheap.

Yeah that's kind of where I'm at too... when I saw how insanely good pinks were for a real cheap point cost... they're going to be the comparison for any competing Tzeentch troop "is this better than pinks?"

I’m sure a couple of squads of them are good with the pink horrors.. And a large squad of tzaangors can also be good. Able to deepstrike and attack twice for 3CP total. Can do it cheaper then a 30 man squad of letters for 2 for the deepstrike and 3CP to attack again. Only difference is the blood letters are garunteed the charge if you see end the extra CP on the banner. tzaangors do get the instrument to give them +1 to charge and advance roll as of right now. Could change.

yeah but do the tzaangors have deep strike natively? because the daemon faction stratagems don't work on them.. as they're tsons faction

There’s a stradegem for thousand sons that lets them deepstrike like elder. 1cp for one unit or 3CP for 2. But it’s not for thousand sons infantry. So Magnus still can’t use it.

They took away their good smite cast... womp womp wooooooomp.
EDIT:
Whoever wrote this codex can go die in a car fire in traffic anytime they feel like. Greatest fears confirmed; tons of synergy for Tzaangor units, none for Rubrics or any other Astartes body.

its now Codex: Tzaangors. I do love the Skyfire models though. I'll buy a bunch for a AoS/40k
One thing I wish they did was give the ability to get inferno rounds to vehicles. There is a stratagem to give one weapon on a tank inferno round, but that's 1CP for that. I'd rather pay for it in points then use 1CP per heavy bolter or combibolter.

GW ruined rubrics and their viability on the tabletop as anything but eye candy.

They're up to part 4 now. The featured army is pretty cool.
