Big too given how much S5/S7 Tau have +1 to wound is really big. Takes them to 2's and 3's on anything but the heaviest units with relatively common weapons.

It is a t'ua Sept strat though, so you have to be using the home world's tactics to use it.

highly doubt there'll be a restriction like that... kinda goes against how 8th works only thing like that are a unique unit They already nerfed IG Command Squads in a similar fashion, because they were being spammed - you can only take one Command Squad per Commander. I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see Tau Commanders get nerfed to 1 per detachment.

Rumour is they are bringing back the Shas'el (commander in training), so a BS3 crisis second in command of sorts.

man I hope not, more or less every dex has the sergeant model have +1 A, and +1 Lds. I don't wanna start to see different BS and Iridium making multiple Armour saves in a squad. That just seems foolish after all the work they put in.

www.warhammer-community.com/2018/03/06/tau-preview-borkan-septgw-homepage-post-3/Bor'Kan traits Things to note: -Why would you ever fire the Ion Cannon not overcharged? So much better. -Heavy burst cannon got tasty! -Wicked stratagem for the 'tide. Two benefits for 1 mortal wound is great. -Either the Stormsurge got the Battlesuit keyword, or SEPT works like CRAWTWORLD, not CHAPTER, affecting all models, including vehicles. -I wonder how this will affect units from Imperial Armour: Xenos in regards to weapon profiles? The Tigershark, Barracuda, and Hammerhead can all take Heavy Burst Cannons. I wonder if they get to use the updated profile. Is there a precedent set somewhere for that?

I am reminded of a Tau image+text that keeps popping up:
'Yeah, we suck in close combat. It's shame you'll never get there.'

The Heavy Burst Cannon is officially 100%-pure-amazing from my perspective.

So Forgeworld riptides are going to be the grossest thing in the world when they run Bor'Kan traits... So my 14" phased plasma flamer that is Heavy 3d6 re-rolling 1 dice for strat...face melting. Even the R'varna might get some play time with 66" range gun that can do 3d3 S6 AP -2 3D shots that on a 15W T8 3++/ re-rollable 3d3 shots with the riptide strat.
And yes the HBC tide looks like its the front runner coming in at a rough 272 pts with plasma, ATS and TL. With the Nova charge for damage and 3++ and drones! these guys are going to be hard to move off the table.

Also while off riptide topic, where is the point drop in missile pods...like 24 pts for 2x S7 AP -1 D d3 @ 36". Not really competing with the fusion blaster.

The thing to remember about the Y'vahra is it still needs to punch itself in the head to put out that damage, and if it outpaces it's drones, it's pretty much dead if the enemy has any anti-tank. Granted, it was already super sweet and Bork'An just makes it better, so I'm not complaining lol. I just know how I would deal with one. Would rather face a Y'vahra than a shadowsword! Yah, Heavy burst tide definitely got a boost. I believe the rumours said that ATS would be getting a price hike, as it's pretty much a no-brainer right now. 270ish points seems fair though, especially when you look at things like contemptors with butcher cannons, Liviathans and Redeptor dreads.

Good catch it does call out the XV 104 by name. I guess that makes sense. I think the HBC will let tau properly deal with Primaris and things. The S6 is still going to make it tough going for anti tank but thankful the Ion is total garbage any more, still don't see it being super popular but it should see some table time.

Every time I see Bork'an, my mind re-arranges it to "Brokan" hahaha. Folks on the t'au forums are calling it Bro'Kan now, seeing as it's a clear front runner for best sept trait (for now)
