I figured out my list for this. Big Bird and one unit of pink horrors. 1500 points for the bird and then enough points for my pinks to split. Wont need to worry about highlander rules, and I'll be able to get big bird on the table again. I'd be rocking a whole 2CP.

Can you bring Big Bird back from the dead with that stratagem?
*edit* man, if you do this, I might have to bring Big Tuna....

Well if you don't want extra CP, I'd be happy to take them off your hands.
No, it has nothing to do with being able to buff my destroyers and giving my Wraiths the rez ability every turn, whatever gave you that idea?

There is the strat that brings back a unit if it was destroyed by a grey knight unit, but it can't be a character. And now that the other Danny is gone, its looking like my chances of using that strat are very slim.
should definitely bring Big Tuna.

I mean if my order shows up in time. I might be bringing a single model to this shindig.

On a related note, if 'Big Tuna' is a nickname for the Ta'Unar Supremacy Armour I suddenly feel a lot less bad about the Gauss Pylon I intend to bring.

Lords of war are permitted, however still must fall under the 0-1 limit. Just so we're clear, since today I heard otherwise - you can only bring a single Lord of War choice, or each Lord of War is limited to just one? Also, where did we settle on Primarchs? Are Mortarion and Magnus different enough from each other to qualify as two different units, or are they so similar as to be stepping on each others' toes?

I would think that Mortarion and Magnus would be pretty different.
However detachments follow the rule of one as well... so you couldn't bring more than one superheavy auxiliary detachment for example.... but a superheavy detachment is fine if you want to bring three (different) superheavies.

just wanted to clarify something from another thread - should be here as well!
you can bring the troops necessary to make a battalion
(and everything ELSE in the list is 0-1 choices other than troops - ie: ravagers!)
Everyone has the ability to make a legal battalion.
so if you get one troop choice only (sisters, kabal, coven, wyches, custodes, slaanesh, harlequins, khorne etc.) then you can have three of the same
if you get two troop choices (orks, necrons, nurgle daemons, etc.) then you get to duplicate one of the choices
if you get three plus choices - no duplication at all (so space marines have to bring one scout, one tacticals and one intercessor if they want to bring a battalion)
if you are mix-matching armies - you have plenty of troop choices! (so couldn't let someone bring triple DE battalions for example)
The idea is all armies can build a battalion - but need to be staying true to the Highlander format.
