What is the psychic awakening? and thoughts? I'm guessing it will be like endless spells for AoS but in the 40k universe...40 pts short throw in a psychic awakening spell.

...Be a tad miffed if Chaos Space Marines don't get a similar update. Agreed, the Non-Death Guard/Thousand Son "chapter tactics" are pretty weak compared to these newly update ones. Especially the whole part about having vehicles also be affected by the new traits... that one stings. Not that anyone REALLY would consider playing Iron Warriors, but if they had a traitor version of the Iron Hands trait, they'd at least be a viable option over the CP farm from the Corsairs.

CSM updated codex 3? lol.... too soon?
seems as though the heretics are getting the bonus +1 to attack on the charge though, that's something right? That plus butcher's nails seems pretty darn good.

GW isn't even trying to be subtle here. The Space Marines aren't kicking enough ass. Their sales are down! Release a new codex filled with new rules, buffs and abilities. Balance? Who cares about that?

Wow... looking at the new rules and units; I'm very inclined to agree with Jonathan. Looks like the Space Marines are getting the Eldar in 7th "I have a unit for that" treatment.
Joy.

Much joy Let's wait and see of course. They usually just feed the amazing rules in these previews to incentivize people to pre-order stuff. Let's not assume the sky is falling from some rules previews (Though I admit, if they bump the eliminator squad size up to 6, 5 dudes with las fusils and a sergeant with the hit-and-run bolter are probably gonna be joining my force)

so... a primaris rhino can have a 4+ invul save stock but my bloodthirsters can't?
(without a relic or burning 2 CP for a single phase)
ummmm.... okay

so... a primaris rhino can have a 4+ invul save stock but my bloodthirsters can't? (without a relic or burning 2 CP for a single phase) ummmm.... okay We can do a house-rule. Your bloodthirsters get 4+ invul all the time while my superheavies trade their invul for quantum shielding. -glares from the entire community-
Yeah didn't think people would go for that.

While true it has an invul. It has to give it up to have killing power. Other then some bolters.

Plus, paying for the invul does still make it vulnerable to CSM psychic in the form of Death Hex.
Strip the invul, pop the zit, wipe away the crusty gunk that falls out.

you'd use your one death hex a turn on a rhino?

Depends on what the rhino has in it, if it's lascannon toting snipers; then you bet your ass I'm going to Death Hex their ride. Intercessors, nope!
There are few models in the SM army that have an invul save to strip; if the target warrants the spell, then there's no reason not to use it.
