I really liked the work done by Altsain at A Table Top Gamer's Diary
ttgamingdiary.wordpress.com/2015/04/08/codex-star-wars-downloads/
And used it for my inspiration to create a star wars army, although I converted or used Imperial assault miniatures rather than the Wizkids mins used for his codexes.
Thing is, even back in 2015 these rules were not very good at all, and made the army largely unplayable if you wanted a fair game, so I was stuck using other armies and "making it fit" as much as possible.
So given this is just for fun anyways, I figured I could do something similar, but based on 8th edition rules with strategems etc.
The goal is to make something that is representative as much as possible, and able to have a decent game of it without just basically picking up the models in frustration and thinking it was all for naught...
NOTE: I would never try to bring this to a tournament... just for friendly games on mutual consent if someone wanted to play it.
So as I'm working on the units, I'm going to put up cards on here with the basic stats/rules. You'll note there's no point cost... that's what I need help from all of you figuring out. Basically I need to know:
1. do the rules for the unit reflect what you think would be accurate in 40k? If not what should be changed?
2. what would be the most fair point cost for this unit, using comparative units currently in 40k?
i'll reserve the next post for the links to the rules as I do them - thanks for your help to anyone willing to play this fandex game
