Not sure if we've seen other burst cannon profiles? Wondering if the piranha got a new one, or if they all went up in str. Seems a little hefty for a stealth suit.

The Eradicator melta rifle doesn't list the melta profile, just the regular one Given the eldar leaks it could be interesting if "fusion" becomes meltas aggressive cousin

www.reddit.com/r/Tau40K/comments/s3dafd/dynamic_entry/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=shareSo apparently someone got a copy early, and is answering a bunch of questions. Not uploading photos beyond the cover though, so may be junk? Highlights: Drones attached to squads, function as ablative wounds Saviour protocols is a strat that lets any unit use a nearby drone to tank a shot Markerlights are boring, but useful. Back to just adding 1 to hit, with one token getting burned per unit firing at the target. Free overwatch is gone, and units can no longer overwatch for their friends. Lots of weapons seem to be better (keeping up with the arms race), but some odd choices. Crisis suits can take 3 guns plus a support system (ats is gone), a few of which are free. Guns get more expensive as you double/triple up on them, pushing for multi gun setups that will be obnoxious to roll, and likely suboptimal. Wonder if people will just suck up the extra points, or actually swiss army knife their squads. Edit: markerlights are also an action, that finishes at the start of the shooting phase. Sounds like pathfinders might actually get to fire their carbines.

Oh man there quite of bit of info to absorb now and those crisis suit rules seem interesting if its not to super expensive and sounds like I might got even more burst cannons to paint now. There is some stuff I'm not to happy about but it can't be all ups.

The markerlight thing reminders me of when I started tau and markerlights were a spendable token. At the time is was 1 to increase bs and 2 to ignore cover and they got used up.

I really like the mechanic of marker lights now The action forcing you to be stationary unless you are a drone, vehicle, or pathfinder will create some tough choices for units (ie markerlight on the Sgt is less useful than a marker drone, but taking a marker drone is not taking something else)

Very true I do like it. But things that stop actions will also stop markerlights

Very true I do like it. But things that stop actions will also stop markerlights There's not much to stop actions outside of the psychic phase ones... there's a few others that can target a unit and do that, but they're generally quite short ranged or tied to a strat. Not sure someone will be close enough to do that on markerlights or even want to.

Veil of Darkless Psychomancer (a favourite from my brief time having a necron army) would actually be hilarious s at this. Teleports into your back field with his friends, turns off a units ability to marker light...profit But your right, its alot of niche things.

Yeah, most of these action-blocking abilities are more targetted at stopping actions that finish at your next command phase, typically things that score VP in my experience.
