I hope everybody who observes some aspect of Easter had a good time. For the rest, I hope you enjoyed a long weekend. I closed out this past week with a finished character piece and another getting close to completion. Not bad for a short holiday week. Day 92: Continue on Warboss subs. Drybrush & wash Red Gobbo. Write thread post. Post to Imgur. Add links & post to thread. Update Excel master copy to my monthly log's parameters. Day 93: Continued with painting & washes for both. Day 94: Started work on a "Basic kit for beginners" article. I’ve had this conversation so many times I think it would be easier to post and give people the link. Day 95: Finish writing article. And yes, I know there are thousands of others out there but it hasn’t stopped anybody else. Day 96: Photos for article. Edit. Day 97: Red Gobbo. Glued body to base. Picked out fine details & highlights. Wash on skin & ammo cases. Day 98: Washes and more fine details. Added snow to base sculpt. DONE! The Red Gobbo is a zero point value piece toward my 5K but it was fun and when I unearthed it I couldn’t resist getting it on the bench. Going in to next week my aim is to get the Warboss done. I’m about to start spending intermittent time away from home so I’ll be packing up my travel kit. Initially I plan to do only assembly when I’m away. Last year I had hoped to paint when off-site but that didn’t work out too well. I’m hoping to avoid breaking the streak by keeping it simple when away and painting only at home. I’ve posted imgur links below. Thanks for reading and checking out the pics. Da Red Gobbo imgur.com/gallery/rCeH5thA basic modeller’s / miniaturist’s kit imgur.com/gallery/B0dybDp

This week I wasn’t able to spend as much time as hoped on the hobby. However, much more progress is being made on my warboss. I finally hit that point where a project goes from bits and pieces to being “real”. Unfortunately now that it is coming together I am seeing additions I want to make, specifically to the base. As this was a gift from my son I want to do it justice so I am taking my time.
Day 99: Took pictures of Red Gobbo for imgur post.
DAY 100: Can’t believe I made it this far! Spotted errors in paint job on Gobbo. Fixed and re-shot. Edit photos.
Day 101: Editing and posting gobbo & article to thread and imgur.
Day 102: Sort & bag newly found (and very old but usable) decals. Work on main sub for warboss. Put base coat on base.
Day 103: Glue main and drive assemblies. Begin picking out details on all other subs. Base colour coat on base.
Day 104: Attach front forks. Colour coat on front tire & teeth. Detailing of warboss, tire, handlebars, sawblade. Set up travel hobby kit.
Day 105: On line research to keep up with developments for 10th edition.
Crossed the 100 day mark in my streak. That was my big accomplishment this week. Given the way my life works I seriously did not expect to make it anywhere near this far without breaking the streak. I've often heard the cliche that "there is no reason why anybody can't spend 15 minutes every day on a hobby". It always makes me want to deck the speaker as I have spent almost 30 years unable to expect any plan for any given day to happen due to family medical issues alone. For some of us, any streak is a minor miracle. If you have ever felt alone in this, you are not. As always, best of luck with your streaks and enjoy the hobby along the way.

Bit of a disjointed week. On the road both weekends but managed to stay productive. The warboss is getting much closer. Now I may be caught in a detailing trap.
Day 106: On line to keep up with 10th and community.
Day 107: Work on post for thread. Update tracker. Post to thread & edit.
Day 108: Painting details on warboss. Dry fit for front wheel, teeth, & handlebars.
Day 109: Attach front wheel, teeth, and skull to bike & drive belts to arm saw. Detail warboss. Base coat & start P3 Coal Black (cloak) on Primaris Chaplain. I think I have to admit that having two projects on the go is just the norm for me. Remove & build up base for C. Select intercessors (10) and Primaris Ancient for next painting projects.
Day 110: Continue with fine details on warboss. Finish Coal black on chaplain's cloak.
Day 111: Fine details on boss. Chains on chaplain.
Day 112: On the road. Took along Space Marine Interdiction Force. Reviewed instructions, did inventory, clipped parts for phobos armour captain for later assembly. I hope this is where that travel kit pays off. Ideally I want to clear boxes from the tower of shame thru building. The completed pieces fit in a small set of hobby drawers with a much smaller footprint than the boxes (at least the infantry does).
My minutes per day have been dropping off for the last 3 weeks but that has been expected so I’m not sweating it. Still just over 45 per day on average so I’m content with that. Spring is a busy transition time for just about everybody and I accept that I have to find a new rhythm for my days. Probably won’t be as productive as winter for a while but to be honest, a quiet whisky on a deck or patio is pretty appealing as the weather warms up. I’m sure some (if not all) of you have similar situations. So relax and give up a few minutes to enjoy the warmer seasons. Happy hobby-ing and see you on the other side of our current projects.

Week 17: I’m definitely caught in the detail trap. I keep seeing things to fix or change on the warboss. I think I will have to say enough is enough this coming week. Daily minutes started to rise this week and I’m just over an hour a day again.
Day 113: Updated spreadsheet. Worked on thread post. Continued with details on warboss.
Day 114: Details &washes on the warboss.
Day 115: Getting to the final stages on the warboss. More details, washes, and drybrushing. Picked out more details on the Primaris chaplain.
Day 116: On the road again. Picked up the new Azrael before I left and took it with me. Glad I pre-ordered as Nexus got short-shipped again and received only two.
Day 117: Spending rest of the week dealing with clean up of winter windfall. Lots of dragging, cutting, and chipping going on. Cleaned up parts and assembled Primaris Capt. in phobos armour.
Day 118: Built Azrael to sub-assemblies. Want to separately paint his standard, magnetize head options, and modify base.
Day 119: Very wet day of getting windfall chipped but we got 40 lots cleared. Keeping up with 10th. Built Einhyr Champion to sub-assembly. Want to modify base and magnetize CC arm.
Looks like the travel kit was a success for this week. Three character models built or to sub-assembly stage. Better than I had hoped for. Maybe next time I will get a squad built. I may want to add my pin vise, bits, and a selection of magnets to it. This may work out.
Have a great week!

Week 18: I’m out of the detail trap and the warboss is DONE! A long time for 115 points but the real objective was to do justice to a gift from my son. The link is imgur.com/gallery/7tvaUxODay 120: Keeping up with 10th. Packing and transporting 3 road builds. Day 121: Drybrush and washes for warboss. Highlights on face. Update tracker with May. In final stretch on this one. Day 122: Glued on hand guard (last piece). Last drybrush on base. Final washes. Mixed epoxy to bond bike to base. 36 paints & washes used. Update tracker and set up to complete Chaplain. Day 123: Glued exhaust smoke to warboss. DONE! Picked out details on chaplain, colour coat on base. Day 124: Photo & edit warboss. Add Water Effects to chaplain base. Start updating for thread post. Day 125: Add ice crystals to base. Repair broken vestment. Day 126: Start assembly of SM Impulsor transport. Now that I’ve finished the warboss, time to knock off the chaplain. I’m close on that. Some edge highlights, washing, and a bit more work on the base should finish him. Started to build an Impulsor on the road. The Intercessor squad and Primaris Ancient are lined up on the bench to start painting. So after zero points in April, I hope to start churning out points in May by sticking to stock models. I’m about 1/3 of the way to 5K after 1/3 of the year has passed but would like to get some more on the scoreboard. Hobby when and where you can. May the streak be with you!

Week 19: Time took a BIG hit and I thought my streak was done on a couple of days this past week. Managed to squeeze a few minutes in to keep going. And a small point bump this week. Day 127: Packed up Impulsor pieces to work on at home. Chaplain base flocked. Final edge highlights, details, washes. Fully assembled on base. Day 128: Final touch ups. Day 129: Transfer applied & sealed. DONE! Posted last week to imgur. Day 130: Went to photograph the chaplain and wanted to use some winter terrain. Realized I don't have any. So I built a piece. Challenge - paint it using only cheap craft paints & brushes to produce a decent looking paint job. Day 131: Brushed on white craft paint base coat. Day 132: Finished base coat. Day 133: Unboxed and checked out my 40th anniversary White Dwarf Grombrindal. Only took me 6 years to get around to it. Forgot it was Finecast. Lots of work I'm not looking forward to ahead to clean it up. My Primaris chaplain isn’t worth a lot of points but they are creeping up. And now I can start on that unit of Intercessors for the chaplain to inspire. With an Ancient and a terrain piece as sidebars. Have I mentioned that I can be a little too ambitious for my own good? Link for the chaplain is imgur.com/gallery/oROJsa6Hobby when and where you can. Have a great week!

Week 20: And as my eye wandered over the tower (it really is stacked as high as my basement ceiling) I couldn’t resist the terrain project. Another distraction with no point value but fun. And maybe my backgrounds won’t be so boring.
Day 134: Write & post to thread.
Day 135: Pics of chaplain & some editing. Colour coat warm white on interior. DL photos.
Day 136: Edit photos. Warm white colour coat on exterior. Post to imgur and thread.
Day 137: Take photos of warm white coat. Dark grey coat on upper level.
Day 138: Dark grey coat on underside of floor.
Day 139: Keeping up with 10th ed developments. Started dark gray on lower exterior.
Day 140: Keeping up with 10th.
I imagine many of us struggled to keep up with their streaks this weekend. Hopefully you were successful.

Week 21: This week’s project was finishing a winter terrain piece using only craft paints and cheap(er) brushes. The colour coats are done and it doesn’t look too bad. Sometime I will add details and washes but for now I have distinct mortar lines, mottled stone, wrought iron window bars, and even some decorative gargoyles. Totally different from what I’ve been doing this year and I’m glad I decided to get out of my usual space. Day 141: Keeping up with 10th. Day 142: Keeping up with 10th. Update spreadsheet. Finish lower exterior terrain in dark grey. Day 143: Finish dark grey base coat. Photo this stage. Write and post to thread. Day 144: Drybrush light grey on stonework. Paint upper floor tiles white. Paint steel on beams. Photo all 3 stages. Day 145: Pick out window bars in black. Photos. 3 coats (white, lt grey, dk grey) on gargoyles. Photo. Edit pics. Day 146: Photo of ceiling. Day 147: Keeping up with 10th. Messaging re. selling some vehicle models. If you ever wanted an example of how much faster airbrushing or rattle cans are, this is it. From start to finish this project took 7.25 hours using only brushes. But this wasn’t about speed for me. It was filling a “want” using different materials to achieve a different kind of objective. Oh, and have some fun of a different kind. Imgur link is imgur.com/gallery/TdYjtQELet me know what you think. Have a good week!

Looks really good! for terrain drybrushing is certainly effective, and you're right, you don't really need to waste expensive paints on terrain. Good step by step!

Week 22: Returned to point value projects this week. Started on 10 Intercessors and an Ancient. Since I was travelling again, I worked on building a couple of character pieces.
Day 148: Write post for thread. DL & edit pics. Work on Imgur post. Day 149: Posting to thread and Imgur. Clean release from 7 resin character pieces for both 40K and HH. Day 150: Intercessors and ancient (finally) get DA Green over Caliban Green. Research for sale, sent pm. Day 151: Leadbelcher on armour and bolters. Day 152: Finished Leadbelcher and Mephiston Red coats. Eye lenses done. Day 153: Edge highlight 10 marines & ancient. Metallics on banner pole. Day 154: Prepped and assembled Phobos Librarian & HH Vigilator. Vigilator to sub-assemblies due to pose.
The sale deal fell through but it's good to be back in “production mode”. I’m aware that the six months mark is coming up and I’m not half way there yet. Maybe I can find a blow out points piece, but they take longer to do justice to. Six of one, half a dozen of the other? So ….. up brushes and CHAAAAAARRRRGGE!! Have a good one all!
