Week 23: I had hoped to rack up the Intercessors this week, but I’m getting close at this point. I’ll keep poking at the Company Ancient while I start on a 2nd alpha generation Rhino. (I’ve always enjoyed dumping troops out of transports.)

Week 24: Making progress. Intercessors were a coat of flock away but couldn’t get them over the line. Company Ancient is coming along but that banner has a lot of fine detail to work on.

Sculpting paste on Intercessor bases. Checked out DA index. Day 164: Add ice effects to intercessor bases. Began picking out details on Ancient's banner. Day 165: Continue details on banner. Day 166: Reviewing index downloads. Day 167: Assembled basic Impulsor. Day 168: Continued following 10th.
And that is it for the week. Everybody have a good one!

Week 25: This was a "cleaning up loose ends kind" of week. 10th landed on Saturday so lots to digest before the tournament. Day 169: Continued following 10th. Packed 3 projects to send home for painting. Day 170: Updated tracker. Worked on DA list for 10th. Day 171: Post to thread. Flocked intercessor bases. DONE! Photos of squad. Attached scenic base for Lion to round game base. Added more details to banner. Day 172: Added transfers to banner & backpack. Gloss and matte coats on banner. Sculpting paste on base. Glued Lion's legs & torso to base. Found good "how to assemble" video for him. Day 173: Flocked Standard's base. DONE! Photos. Day 174: DL Imperial Armour indexes. Editing photos. Day 175: Modified roster spreadsheet. Working on test lists. Finally finished the Intercessors and Ancient. Pics are on imgur. As always, comments & critiques are welcome. Not quite to 2K but very close. I have a Rhino and a Land Raider that are looking good to deal with, as well as getting in to further assembly of my HH Lion. Have a good hobby week. Week 26: Realized I had the numbering of days wrong. The end of this week marked the middle of the year. I discovered a second incomplete alpha generation Rhino so worked on it as well. One I did a basic job on close to thirty years ago, the other about 10 years ago. So I worked on both. The changes in paint and transfers over the years makes it impossible to make them identical, but I did manage to locate some vintage transfers for the older of the two. I also didn’t want to do an extreme “then and now” presentation so tried to bring the one a little closer to where I am today without stepping too far back with the more recent Rhino. Day 176: Edit and post to community and imgur threads. HH Vigilator ready for base coat. Rhino drybrushed with P3 Ordic Olive & Boiler Black. Day 177: Painted inside of missile box launchers. Prepped transfers for Rhinos. Day 178: Transfers on Rhinos. Fixed box MLs. Built Ballistus dread & terminator captain. Day 179: New transfers for original alpha rhino, gloss sealed both, black wash on both. Built terminator librarian. Start repairs to damaged Armiger. Prep July spreadsheet. Add metal details on armiger legs. Matte sealed both rhinos. Touched up base colour coats on armiger. Day 180: Washes on both rhinos. Layers and steel edging on armiger. Black washed all metal on armiger. White coat on base. Day 181: Touch up rhinos. Done! Link is below. Attached glass "ice" to armiger base. Located & selected transfers for armiger. Day 182: Updated tracker and potential projects for July. We hit the mid-point of the year this week. I’m averaging an hour a day, which is better than I expected to achieve. Points are lagging but I did that to myself by taking on a few zero point projects. Still, I can live with 2155 to date. This has been an amazing run for me as I have become accustomed to a constant stream of events which often made daily planning an almost impossible task for much of the last three decades. Thanks to all of you who are posting your streaks and/or projects. They really do help to keep me motivated and focused. Rhinos: imgur.com/gallery/qib9AFL

Week 27: My third armiger is done. Closing in on the mid-way point of my yearly goal. And this week was the end of my streak.
Day 183: Cut and assembled 5 cork bases. Assembled and attached Incursor sgt. to base. Day 184: Work on thread post. Day 185: Photos, editting, post to imgur. Post to PB thread. Transfers on armiger. Began working sculpting paste on armiger base. Day 186: Gloss & matte coats. Finished 1st layer of sculpt on base. Checked out errata for aeldari, index cards, and points. Day 187: Snowed the base. DONE!! Next up: Lion El'Johnson. Day 188: Packed Leviathan SM figs to hit the road. Day 0: Our much delayed (by covid) party to celebrate our 35th anniversary, both turning 60, my wife's retirement, and me permanently reducing my work week finally occured today. Our now 38th anniversary party was a full day event between prep & party. Pretty good reason to break the run.
And there it ended. I was pretty certain I would be too busy to hobby but that’s life. Day 1 is today and starts with this post. Have a great week and good luck with your hobby-ing.

Week 1: Starting over while on vacation this week. Not expecting much in either productivity or time. Day 1: Wrote and posted for the previous week. Day 2: Research on assembling HH Lion El'Johnson. Day 3: Assembled both the Biologis and the Lt in phobos armour. Day 4: Tinkered with lists for tournament. Day 5: Located phobos Lt. head missing from frame. Damn bugs. Day 6: Studying for Leviathan tournament. Sort mission cards. More list adjustments. Day 7: Studying. Hopefully I will be able to get all the pertinent information in my head for the tournament. This will probably be the first edition where I will be playing a tournament without any practice games. There’s a first time for everything and it's not worth stressing over. Good luck with your hobby-ing this week. If you are going to the Leviathan tournament, have fun and best of luck to you. Week 2: Time forced a change from DA to Knights for Leviathan but those things happen. A mostly quiet week of tournament prep capped by Leviathan.
Day 8: Still trying to get the rules in my head. Day 9: Posted to thread. Photo, edit, 2 posts to imgur as well. Day 10: Change of plans. Not doing DA list as too many rules. Create IK list. Print sheets Day 11: Assemble all models in one place. Glue Helverin torsos to legs. Glue Castellan legs to base. Magnetized torso & legs. Completed army list. Built terms pages. Day 12: Studying. Day 13: Packing, printing, studying books and videos. Day 14: Leviathan tournament. Hot, humid, and sweaty but lots of fun.
A kind of week I haven’t done in a long time. Looking forward to my next chance to play. Headed back to the bench this week with a revised list of projects.

Week 3: Found myself on the move ahead of schedule this week. Glad I grabbed some sprues on the way out.
Day 15: Answered Shannon's questions on Kingston Warhammer. Updated tracker Day 16: Following Leviathan AARs to gauge community response. Post to thread. Day 17: Unpacked and stored Knights. Reconfigured cases. Did some clean up on HH Lion. Thinking I will paint another large Knight. Day 18: Lay out colour scheme for next knight. All are customized within the palette. Day 19: Packed minis for unplanned trip & hit the road. Day 20: Built 5 man termie squad. DL updated indices, legends, and misc. updates. Built 5 Sternguard vet squad. Day 21: Write post.
Nothing painted this week but I did work out the scheme for the next knight within my house palette. Also got the terminator and sternguard squads from Leviathan built. Now I have a bigger pile of plastic crack waiting for me. Painting the knight will begin when I get home. Happy hobby-ing!

Week 4: The knight I’m working on is 2nd hand so I’m correcting some issues with the shoulder greaves and adding magnets to connect the torso and legs. I’m glad this was in sub-assemblies when I acquired it. The undercoat is incomplete so I need to fill it in. Some parts are missing but most are minor. I’ll be scrounging my bits boxes and maybe battle damaging in lieu of what I can’t replace.
Day 22: Post to thread. Day 23: Disassemble, check undercoat and magnets. Day 24: Start touching up undercoat. Shoulder magnets will need to be realigned or beefed up. Will have to magnetize torso to legs. Update tracker for August. Day 25: Continue working on magnets. Day 26: Continue working on magnets & touching up undercoat. Day 27: Shoulder magnets are fixed, still have torso magnets to work on. Colour coats started for green & yellow. Day 28: Assembled 5 man Infernus squad.
Not a lot of time on task this week but trying to expand that. Located my Skorne Red so I can start laying down that colour in the coming week as well as Leadbelcher for most of my metal components. Have a good long weekend all!

Week 5: Still working on the knight. A little side trip in to painting faces for a break. I really am terrible at faces and skin so I’ll push a bit on practicing this once the knight is done.
Day 29: Post to thread. Day 30: Started laying down Skorne Red layers on carapace. Day 31: Layering up green, red, and yellow coats on carapace and shoulders. Videos on painting faces as a break because I hate doing them. Day 32: Continue adding layers to colours. Add Leadbelcher to carapace & torso. Replace skin tone paints as most of mine are 20+ years old and have seen better days. Start adding colour layers to torso. Day 33: Adding more layers on torso and legs. Day 34: Magnetize torso & legs. Undercoat missile launcher. Check magnets, glue has taken. Skorne Red & Cryx base started on missile launcher. Continue adding colour layers. Day 35: Dry brush Leadbelcher in to recesses, paint on plate details.
So definite progress on the torso and legs. I’m going to take these to “done” before I work on the gun arms. Doubled up on my time from last week so feeling good about that. Have a good week of hobby-ing everybody.

Week 6: The knight is coming along. The basics for the body and legs are done. Shifted to the gun arms this week.
Day 36: Start writing post. Day 37: Finish & post to thread. Day 38: Continue working on plate trim, dry brush missed areas of leg workings. Day 39: Continuing colour coats. Located some of the missing parts. Began work on faceplate. Day 40: Found more missing parts. Base coat for them. Keep adding colour coats and details. All basics done on carapace, torso, and legs. Start colour coats for gun arms. Day 41: Work on battle cannon arm. Day 0: I get visual migraines and this one put me out for the day. Working on anything is impossible when these strike. Still need to attach some of those minor bits I located. If I’m lucky I can move on to washes and transfers by the end of the coming week. Still haven’t figured out the base yet. Have a good week all!

Week 1: The knight is STILL coming along. The basics for the body and legs are done. The gun arms have most of the basics complete.
Day 1: Able to see well enough to work on computer briefly. Update tracker and start on post. Day 2: Finish & post to thread. Day 3: Colour coat and drybrush on gun arms. Day 4: Looking in to FW Knights & suppliers. Day 5: Colour coats and some weathering on both gun arms. Pick out details. Post FW knight thread. Thanks to those who responded. Day 6: Touch up colour coats on gun arms. Day 7: Build 5 man Infernus squad. Leviathan marines are now fully assembled.
It would be nice to think that this knight will be done this week so I can start a fresh project in September. I’ll just have to see how things shake out for the week. May your hobby week be productive and have a great Labour Day weekend!

Week 2: So much for being done this week. The knight is pretty much ready to mount on its’ base though.
Day 8: Update tracker. Day 9: Post to thread. Day 10: Collecting what I need to finish the knight. Also assessing what has to be done for Sept. project. Day 11: Touch up some details on knight. Day 12: Black wash metal. Attach helmet carapace. Select glass "ice" for base. Add water effects. Sculpt base for snow. Day 13: Set up September tracker. Select & apply transfers to knight. Adjusted base sculpt. Day 14: Update tracker. On line checking out Black Magic Craft.
I have a little shaving and grinding to do on the sculpt before I can flock it and attach the knight. Maybe add a little more "ice". Edging closer however slowly. Hope everybody had a good holiday weekend!

Week 3: My knight is done! Day 15: Supplier research. Day 16: Work on this week's post. Day 17: Added more "ice" to base. Trim sculpt to fit feet and paint non-glued points. Day 18: Seal transfers. Located the rest of the missing bits. Colour coats. Day 19: Add missing bits. Touch up colour coats. Old transfers had more clear material around them than anticipated. Forgot GW experimented with making entire sheets of transfer material. Painted over the excess clear material. Day 20: Photograph. DONE! Search for missing components for Sept. project. Good to go for tabletop but could (and might) return to add more detail. Edit photos. DL points, balance dataslate, commentary. Day 21: Post to both imgur and thread. Here’s the link imgur.com/gallery/8CAARU2Finally done. I have to take a little time away from the hobby but expect to return before too long. Best of luck on all your streaks! I’ll be checking the board regularly to see what you are creating. Cheers!

Post by question on Dec 28, 2023 16:26:41 GMT -5
The last time I posted I was taking a “little” time away from the hobby. I was going on vacation and a little down time at home, thinking I would be on another streak in 2 or 3 weeks. Life took a hard left, barrel rolled and headed for the deck in a screaming power dive. Shortly after returning from that vacation, a close family member was diagnosed with a very rare and highly aggressive form of cancer. I abruptly became a primary caregiver in a thankfully supportive team of caregivers. Needless to say, life is very different now and spare time is at a premium. If I could find the time to hobby I probably would lack the proper frame of mind for creativity. So what I DO want to do is thank all of you hobby streakers on the board. Without knowing it, you have provided me with many moments of respite when I read your posts and view your work, often in the wee hours of the morning. I may be weeks late seeing or commenting but it has been helpful to see what you have been up to.
I look forward to seeing what you produce in 2024 and perhaps drawing some inspiration for whenever I return to the hobby. My best for the new year to all of you. Cheers!
*As a minor note, I managed to hit 2775 points and 265.5 hours of hobby time by my last post. A lot of that came from being part of this board. Thanks for the comments and messages. When I get back to it, I think I’ll forego the points target and just do what’s fun at the moment.
