Glad I was so lazy at getting my gaunts painted since these ones are just so far superior

Pretty happy that the changes are significant enough to require indexes. I had definitely never felt more disinterested in the game at any point in it's history than 9th.
Going to take some getting used to the new profiles even if nothing functionally changes.

After reading through and checking out the data sheet preview in detail I noticed a few things, some obvious and some not.
The new datasheet is interesting:
There's a new stat called "OC", no idea what it is or does but a termagant gets 2 of whatever it is.
To-hit stats are now per weapon instead of per model, which is interesting for sure. I suspect this means weapons like powerfists who already naturally capped out the +1/-1 to hit modifiers will be vulnerable again.
Twin linked is back, no idea what it does in 10th but it's back. (Historically it meant reroll all failed misses but who knows)
And termagants have AN ABILITY GRANTING A REACTIVE MOVE OF D6 INCHES WHEN AN ENEMY MOVES WITHIN 9" OF THEM?!?!?!? WHAT THE #$@&?!?!?
so yeah... Clearly there's going to be a pretty big shakeup....

Also leadership 8+. I assume moral and such will be changing.

There's a new stat called "OC", no idea what it is or does but a termagant gets 2 of whatever it is. If I remember correctly they said it stands for Objective Control. It will be used to determine which unit controls an objective. They said things like Knights will have a high OC.

Also leadership 8+. I assume moral and such will be changing. Morale Phase has been combined with the command phase. No more Psychic Phase either. Powers are now like shooting attacks similar to the new edition of Heresy.

Amazing new Termagants! I'll be buying multiple boxes of this starter set I'm guessing, and will be selling off the marines that will inevitably come with it lol! It's great that they've already prepared us for another edition where spinefists do not need to exist. I like knowing this stuff up front I'm totally up for card decks for unit stats (and free downloads!). Just having all your units' abilities at a glance is pretty sweet. Glad 40k finally caught up with AOS in this regard.

Powers are now like shooting attacks similar to the new edition of Heresy. I sure hope not, otherwise Thousand Sons and Tzeentch daemons are going to take a hard sit on a lot of shelves. Combining psychic into other phases and having to choose to shoot OR do a power was always the biggest kick in the teeth.

As a new Nids player, I'm very lukewarm on the new sculpt.
It's fine. I don't think it's enormously better. It looks good alongside the classic, which is important.
... new base sizes seems like somebody being arbitrary to ruin 2-3 of my weekends.

I recommend watching the video where they talk way more indepth.
There are vehicles over toughness 11
psychic is still there, just baked into the datasheet.. they specifically call out Magnus as super powerful that way

I can't help but think what the new edition will bring in regards to terrain... GW makes a TON of terrain kits for lots of different games, but not a single one of them is exactly what you need to play a current game of 9th ed.
I feel like they have an opportunity to do a "battlefield in a box" kit that has everything you need for a table according to them and the new edition. I say that, knowing full well that it will likely be a very expensive AND would be ripped off very quickly, as everyone would be looking for the dimensions of the individual pieces to cobble together their own full tables.
But... I still think something needs to be said by GW about the L/W/H of each terrain piece on a "standard" board; so there's no guesswork, it's laid out and clearly defined.

Exciting stuff! I like that the rules will be free online at the start of 10th. Simplified rules I'm sure will be a welcome change. I am in an abusive relationship with my AdMech command phase and strategy jank, and it's time I got help.
Chances are good that my wife and I will buy the 10th edition starter box and split the Tyranids and Marines.

Chuffed to see one of my beloved old school space marine units get the embiggening. I will probably resist picking any up because I have enough termies and grey plastic to last a lifetime but it will nevertheless be nice to see other people's on the table.
Waiting to see if the removal of the primaris keyword is a thing, that will make it much easier to play firstborn in general by removing the annoying divide between the two ranges. I honestly wouldn't even mind if redundant old profiles for firstborn units are squatted if it allows me to just use my guys as their modern equivalent - bolter marines, jump pack marines, w/e.

Looks promising.
And as I have yet to play a game of 9th, I think I will just write off the last few years (and associated costs) and continue to pass until 10th debuts. Since 40K debuted (yes, I was there for that), this will be the only edition in which I will never have played a game.
