Elite:
Priest with jump pack Priest with jump pack Priest with jump pack
2,000 points 35 models of jumpy fun
re: the tanks... I'm just not a tank guy... almost all of my armies are completely tank free or just have a couple at most (necron and ork)... guess I'm more boots on the ground... lol even if it's worse than hybrid...
but anyhow, the list is aimed to do one main thing well.. give you five targets at once that HAVE to be dealt with turn one. and everywhere you aim is a 2+/FNP target (obviously Astorath is going to lead the DC from the front!). My entire army (small as it is) should be assaulting you turn two.
will make for very short games where I'll often be tabled by turn three. but it will look cool ;D

I don't think it's bad by any means.... But if you're going with SG then don't take Death Company- it gives the enemy AP 3 a target and they'll die every game all the time.
Just a paint scheme could work for the heaven and Hell theme... but yeah. I can give you an example of my take on the list if you want, though it would involve adding some 3+ armor save units anyways- though they'll have a different way to play in the list then the DC.

my point of adding 5 tanks its just so all Lascannon/anti tank gun are not pointed at your poor Sang Guard and also give you mobile cover...

5 tanks means he doesn't have enough scoring units though.

that's the problem I'm finding... to go with the elite tough jumper theme, and use the sang. guard, my numbers are pretty crazy low... when it's 30+ at 2+ armor I don't feel that vulnerable... when it's 20 and 10 3+ dudes... suddenly the numbers seem alot more vulnerable... I realize forgoing tanks tends to limit your options... going elite (rather than the sturdy and reliable tac/assault marine chassis) limits it even further... When Tom suggested Astorath... I read his rules and thought, no brainer! death company because the reroll to hits and wounds combo... then the heaven and hell theme... and it was all downhill from there... but Tom's been spamming my email with ideas so I'm sure there's one in there that might work!

Based on reading not playing I think many lists now are great against some and have hard counters vs others. I can't see my sisters shooting enough in time but my god I think some tau and guard builds will own you! Also unsure how you would do vs a marine gunline build.

I personally think 4 unit of 2/5 backing up with 5 tanks its better then 6 unit of 2/5 with nothing to back them up but I understand that its a theme army and he has millions of army so he doesnt care if that one is not winning every game...

lol.. I don't care if ANY of my armies win games.... that's why I run a different list every week I'm definitely listening to the advice on this one though guys, that's for sure, I do appreciate the help... fine tuning marine lists is something I have little to no experience with...
