you are wrong Jason, Scouts give you 6 inches for infantry MC and artillery and 12 inche for the rest so since curshers are cavalry they can move 12 inches...
Also I saw one of your game Shannon and I think you just move them 6 inches was that on purpose...

I thought it was only 6 inches, so nope, wasn't on purpose... so then in my khorne list I could conceivably have my crushers and dogs 25" - 30" across the board turn one? hmmmm that could be fun... lol... and might make it a little more risky to drop the big templates on them!
(ie: until of course the two units get rapid fired to death by bolters!)

yeah you let him go first so you can charge him 1st turn

crushers depend on the grimoire to survive the first turn of shooting... eating that with a 5++ really sucks!

crushers depend on the grimoire to survive the first turn of shooting... eating that with a 5++ really sucks! Always depends on the table but if you can position yourself behind a ruin or having a good cover save it can worth it to go second and charge 1st turn...

oh for certain if they're an assault army, or in any way are coming towards me (haven't run across that much outside of nids) then I always try for the turn one charge... but thus far people for some reason are quite content to sit back and pummel me at range... lol... I wonder why?

realized something... a herald on a juggernaut with the grimoire is only 15 points shy of skulltaker on a juggernaut... and EW is probably better protection than a dice roll on the grimoire!
so how about this one?
HQ:
Skarbrand
Karanak
Skulltaker on juggernaut
Troops:
20 bloodletters with banner 20 bloodletters with banner 20 bloodletters with musician
Elite:
5 bloodcrushers with banner
Fast:
15 flesh hounds
Heavy:
cannon cannon soulgrinder - khorne/warp gaze
2000 points
so a bit of a different take on where the heralds go... karanak goes with the hounds... skulltaker rides with the crushers... who although cannot scout now, have a three wound EW character in front to eat a couple S8+ shots (and LOS the rest!)... the added protection may be better than the grimoire... maybe not...
problem is, I can't decide if this list, or the one before it is better...
sigh...

grimoire is cool but when you miss your roll you are done... Skulltaker can take some hit if you play an army with lots of S8 but most army pack autocannon so for me its better to have skulltaker and having the hounds scouting and forcing your oponent to shot at them...

well I was liking the idea of both the crushers and the hounds being right in the opponent's face to force target priority issues... to make them both scout I would need the herald or skulltaker in with the dogs and karanak in with the crushers... otherwise the hounds are way ahead of the crushers... still could work but really skulltaker's EW protection should be in the crushers (who cares really if 3-4 hounds die... 3-4 crushers dying cripples the unit! so I'm leaning towards the non-skulltaker list...
I'm really trying to plan out my purchases (would hate to buy models I'm never going to use!) because I have quite a bit to go...

The thing is find super weird is that skull taker is the only ew in the dex but he had only two wounds. So yes he can't be instant deathed but then he has one wound left

yep... and no model for him on a juggernaut - which is the only viable way to take him....
the AP3 is a little irritating for his cost however... you know, given a herald with an AP2 striking at initiative weapon is nearly half the cost...
come to think of it, he's kind of meh...

Alright... I've read enough tactica and played with this stupid list concept enough... I'll never end up building it if I don't decide...
I tossed the grimoire... 1/3 chance of me losing a unit? no thanks cruddace random crap... no thanks!
I thought about it more and having a herald with an AP2 initiative weapon with a greater gift seems a LOT better....
so here goes... I'm building THIS:
HQ:
Skarbrand
Karanak (runs with crushers to give them scout)
Herald - juggernaut, lesser gift, greater gift (runs with flesh hounds)
troops
20 bloodletters with banner 20 bloodletters with banner 20 bloodletters with musician
Elite:
5 bloodcrushers with the banner of blood
Fast:
15 flesh hounds
Heavy:
Skull cannon Skull cannon Soulgrinder of khorne with phlegm
2000 points exactly
everything is on the table except the musician unit of letters and skarbrand who deepstrike in.
