So you're saying I should start an eldar army based on those Wraiths I won in trenton?

well to be honest I hope Eldar is fun to play and has varied options which are balanced and fun.
It can't be all that great being an Eldar player in the current edition if you want to have fun games, given the strength of the army and if you don't intentionally tone it down (Ynari especially is unbalanced this way) you're just going to steamroll people.
I hope they have a ton of viable options so we see varied lists.

Or just completely suck ass for an edition or two... Feel the pain that Nid, SIsters and (formerly) CSM players felt for a long while.

The thing I like the most that I've seen is that power / force swords will have the best armor pen, which is the exact trade off I expected due to having less strength.

Interesting to see that something as powerful as Eldars Avatar is not dealing mortal wounds. This gives me hope that while mortal wounds are big they wont be every where on the field.
Also pretty happy to hear that banshees might actually see a table again. I mean right now they are pretty good and if thier stats were in another codex they would see play time but eldars has to many things that are better.

This is one of the most important updates, due to the last paragraph.
"The points for units don’t appear on the datasheet but will be elsewhere in the same book. This is because you don’t need them to play if you don’t want, which frees up room to include more rules for weapons on the datasheet. It also means that, in the future, points for units could change without invalidating existing books – so if one unit or weapon starts to dominate tournaments, or certain units don’t seem to be carrying their weight in competitive games, we can address the balance."
Completely confirms that the new rule system will be easier to modify. With GW now listening to major tournament organizers, we should hopefully see the meta shifty more often.

lol... I was literally about to put up the same quote....
also they totally fixed summoning spam. Made it identical to AOS - which is not very strong at all (in fact AOS players generally feel summoning is underpowered)

Yah, it does really nerf summoning (which needed to happen). Now its like reserves where you get to pick your unit. I can see it still having a place.

Agreed, it’ll have A place, not THE place. Tzeentch daemons just got their legs literally cut out from underneath them with this. I’m glad they’ve addressed all of the glaring options on powergaming and the WAAC tournament lists that have become commonplace at LVO/Adepticon etc.

....so glad for this! (cuz the new kit is amazing)
