Aww nuts. I was just coming here to post that.
*Edit for substance*
Looks like they're taking some of the creativity they put into the Open War deck and adding it to these missions. I like it.

Roving Patrol sounds pretty darn cool. Ascension worries me a bit given the disparity of available characters between each army - some builds have easy access to 20 or 30 point Elite Slot characters while others will struggle to get more than 2 in a list.
Hopefully CA also tones down Malefic Lords and Smite Spam, because that mission feels like a big boon to those sorts of builds.

If I were placing bets on what will be nerfed big time over the next month, it'd be malefic lords. GW hasn't let any other thing slide that tourney players have been complaining about and the lords will be on the chopping block next I'd wager...
.... unless of course they just fix smite and then you wouldn't need to modify malefic lords at all.... AOS for example has a "smite" style spell... and it's limited to ONCE like every other spell - no matter how many casters you have

The official 40k Facebook page responded to a comment about the Ascension mission with "Maaaaaaaybe Malefic Lords will get dealt with in Chapter Approved..."

(brave new world we live in these days...lol)

I think you're right though, I believe the fix will come in the form of a smite limitation. GW has already confirmed that they will not be doing FW balancing in the mainline GW books.
