No tau mainline codex point adjustments. The optimist in me wants to believe that it's because our codex is on the way, because there's no way crisis suits and riptides are appropriately costed.

I am....really unimpressed with the point adjustments. Didn't seem to help anything that really needed it, like most Tau or Sons. Drastically reduced some random FW units, and drastically increased others. Confuses the heck out of me.

seemed like it was a lot of "forge world is OP crank the points up!"

Im super excited with the point change ! My Primaris Marines will deffinitly hit the table now. Looking forward to using the Interceptors now. and a 36 point decrease on the Aggressors mean they will be in the list for sure. Hell Blasters are too OP for a friendly game, this will help out a lot.

seemed like it was a lot of "forge world is OP crank the points up!" It doesn't even seem like they jacked up the points on the *good* stuff though. Like, I felt *bad* about how nasty the Scorpius was, and it wasn't touched at all...

yeah I'm not sure why the scorpius didn't get touched at all while other stuff got a massive point hike
Given Frontline Gaming does a LOT of their playtesting, I'm sure it's based on feedback from them, which sometimes means that on their site (usually in comment sections in answer to questions) they explain the rationale behind a few decisions, however they won't do that prior to the book's release (if at all)

www.frontlinegaming.org/2017/11/25/chapter-approved-review/Speaking of Frontline, they're doing a review of it that drops all the faction specific stuff. Biggest deal I see here - characters get a buff, as you now can't target them if there's a closer unit, whether it's visible or not. FLG is excited because it "stops Rhino sniping" but damn, that is not the direction I thought they'd go with characters, and it feels like something that could cause some trouble in the future.

wait... big bird went up to 1500 points? how could their first take on that model be 800 points too cheap? Don't own or play this model... but man that's rough....

I'm sure I'll stop complaining eventually, but some of these increases just seem to have zero thought put in to them or any viable explaination, especially when compared to similar models.

Chapter approved is out today... so going forward for tournies etc. these would be the official rules updates (including secret santa next weekend!)

so something to keep in mind (which I did not take from the rumours but is spelled out clearly in Chapter approved)
if a unit is not visible to the unit firing, it still counts as the closest unit for the purposes of character protection.
so yes, you can have a single scout behind LOS blocking all your shots at that librarian.
I don't know why they went this way (I thought it was going to go the opposite actually) but it is there.

Yup. I haven't had a chance to pour through my copy yet (won it in a roundabout way at the tournament) but that is something I found a bit frustrating.

I've gotta say I'm less than impressed. Random points changes that leave some problems untouched. Unpleasant ruling on the character protection front. Nothing done about the Smite Spam that is currently dominating the game.
