Looks pretty spot on to me! Better than my wet blending; that's for sure. .... but your "wet with nurgle's decay" blending is SPOT ON!

Just wondering: for your fire models do you use a dull-coat varnish?

Just wondering: for your fire models do you use a dull-coat varnish? I don't think I've put varnish on anybody 5h flames I've made. Sorry, not sure what a dull coat would do to it

Ah Because I wanted at least some protection on the C'Tan and I know that a gloss wouldn't work very well.
And honestly, I've never really noticed any difference between pure paint and dull-coat varnish. Of course that might just be my poor eyesight missing details.

decent matt spray usually doesn't make any colour difference and does provide some protection.
...except for old metal flesh hounds and zoanthropes who chip like crazy despite multiple varnish coats.... so I just stopped fixing the battle damage..lol

Army Painter Matte spray works really well.

Honestly I moved to paint-on varnish instead of the spray a while ago. Not only does it allow me to varnish indoors but I feel a lot more assured that I've gotten all the various nooks and crannies properly covered.

For my latest project I decided to try something new. I've been watching he YouTube chanel miniac (highly recommended) and one of his ongoing projects is to successfully duplicate an Eavy metal marine. The playlist is defiantly worth checking out: youtu.be/LkIo6sdpBMgIt seemed like a fun idea, so I thought I'd give it a try. The first layer of edge highlighting is done. imgur.com/a/al7TzvX

Second round of edge highlights done. Although when it's just on the sharpest corners it does go quite a bit quicker. imgur.com/a/Tzw1twq

nice job! isn't edge highlighting "fun" ? Weird as it sounds, I've actually come to enjoy it. While it's a complete pain some times, in the right circumstances I actually find it soothing
