I also don't really know Y'nnari at all (so this might be already known info) but this was in there:
"the Haemonculus Covens are the only Aeldari to universally refuse the offer of the Ynnari, instead pursuing their own mysterious agendas…" I believe that was in the Gathering Storm fluff. The Haemonculus are not fans of the Ynnari's "lifestyle choices" me neither...

Nonsense, the Ynnari way of life is 100% Farseer approved! Who could possibly has reservations about it after Ynnari has been vouched for such trust-worthy and honest individuals?

I've always been tempted by the thoughts of creating a "dark circus" themed Homonculous army (ringmaster characters, twisted clowns etc.)
....this might happen now with the new book...
hmmm maybe I should sell an army to make an army... that's fiscally responsible right? lol

The Ynnari info was always out there, and actually even in the index books (Ynnari could not take any Coven units).
Covens are tempting, but I'll wait until the wyches stuff comes out to make a judgement. Kabals are still looking tops to me.

oh man... they're SO much better now... kill screen, consolidate into combat with something tasty... kill again with the stratagem

Wyches have always had an invul in the fight phase, T3 still folds to bolters. But that cost reduction is pretty significant. 8 points a model is MUCH cheaper than in the past.
Not particularly impressed except by the Advance & Charge Strategem. Which is a big deal.
Dark Eldar look like they will be back to the ultimate drive-by gang fight style they should be. Raiders full of shooting units and blasters, wyches jumping out to mop-up afterwards. And obviously every unit having INSANE movement levels.
Looks tempting for sure.

well a 6++ vs. shooting, significant point reduction, obsession bonuses and stratagems are all positives...
plus who cares about T3 when you're deep striking 9" away in a raider, piling out with 20 girls and charging (rerollable with an obsession) for 81 attacks, possibly twice in a row if you spend the CP
T3 doesn't matter all that much if they aren't getting shot outside of overwatch

The only thing I feel bad for wyches for is them being basically discount harlequins. Like the obsessions are let them advance and charge, or let them be s4, or let them be 3 attacks each. So like, discount harlequins...

Oh yeah, I'm not trying to say the changes are bad or anything. It's a big improvement. I just don't see them as more than a mop-up unit due to durability. Even getting punched back by a basic marine will hurt a good portion of the time.
81 attacks is great, but just like daemonettes, you'll never get 20 wyches in combat. 10 jumping out of a raider is probably the best you'll reliably do, and 41 attacks at 3s, wounding on 4s most of the time with no AP is only ~3-4 dead MEQ bodies. An ideal mop-up unit for sure, but NOT a spearhead like that article makes it sound like you could do.

I didn't want to say it first but I was thinking the same thing. Wyches are harlequin that you find at Walmart.
