I'm pretty pumped for this release... I'll likely buy far too many necrons given how awesome the new sculpts are... Yeah I’m in a lot of trouble when it come to that. |

Though I'm certainty not going to replace my entire range of green plastic users with the new models. Maybe enough for a new unit of lokhusts.

So apparently on the tenth of October we'll be getting the Silent King, Doomstalker, new Heavy Destroyer, Space marine and Necron Codexes, Chaplain on Bike, Invader ATV and Servo-turret.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet but, would it be worth to buy the greater good psychic awakening book or wait for the next one. I'm not sure if this book is considered an 8th or 9th edition codex supplement.

All the Psychic awakening books can be used in 9th. GW said that they built them with 9th in mind.

To add to this, it would not be invalidated until a new 9th ed Tau book comes out. Let's face it, Tau are probably in the back half of the range to be redone, so you might have a year or more to go.

For what it's worth, if you do get psychic awakening, they forgot to put the points value for Shadowsun. Then again, that value from the faq has likely been replaced now that 9th is out. Still, something to look out for if you ever decide you want to play a game of 8th with a friend of something. I know that there ar people out there that still play older editions.

-Reanimation triggers when any models are killed but unit is not destroyed via a shooting or fighting attack (no mention of physic).
-RP works on a 5+ and can't be modified by more than plus or minus one, with some new rules:
I think it means for multi-wound models you need to have successful rolls equal to max wounds to bring them back. So for destroyers I need three successes to put a model back on the field. But by all indications we're still rolling for all destroyed models each time one dies.
-Reanimated units do not count for morale purposes. It's only units that are still dead at the morale phase.
-Hexmark Destroyers: Six 18" S6 AP-1 D1 pistols and the rule:
So it seems like it can get up to six additional shots assuming it kills with each shot.
-Monolith is getting 4 additional wounds and revamped weapon loadout. That autohitting AP-3 D3 portal makes this thing rather scary. Though it'll depend on strength and how many attacks it gets (of which the latter will no doubt degrade with damage). No indication if it's getting an invul or anything yet. Though I suppose Chronomancers might be able to cover that.
And finally the Void Dragon. 5 attacks, S9 for ranged and melee, when damaging vehicles goes from d6 to d3+3, it's 12" ranged attack is a line (damages every unit in a straight line between point A and B) and heals a wound (up to 3) for every vehicle it has destroyed per phase.
