Tabletop Titans played a Salamanders vs Necrons game with the new books today too. VoD should be up soon.

Holy crap on a stack, the nightbringer is gonna be everywhere. Well for those of us that have him. He and the rest of the C'Tans are out of stock at the GW webstore (maybe intending to switch to plastic like the T.C'Tan?). Until then, it's kit-bash or proxy. I can see Necron and would-be Necron players making dashes for Nighthaught models and similar kinds of things for the parts.
I've got a Nightbringer though I'm not sure what I could use for a Deceiver proxy/kitbash.

He’s pricey though. And does not benefit from the look out sir rule. Need to be careful with how you play him.
Yes he can only take 3 wounds a phase but still .
360 points. .... that’s 30 warriors....
though. 6 attacks at str 14 -4 D6 damage that ignore Invulnerable and FNP Might be worth 30 warriors.

plus only one C'tan per detachment... not that you would take more than that at 360 points!
They're going to be like adding a knight to an imperial army it seems... a huge thing that you MUST deal with before it hits your lines.
I for one, really like this... it's a friggin star god, it SHOULD be tough, and the points seem to reflect it at least.

For shooting only armies, it will be pretty much unkillable

yeah... poor tau actually... no psychic/melee really makes it rough to try and deal with this.

yeah... poor tau actually... no psychic/melee really makes it rough to try and deal with this. Yeah, the message is pretty clear. an army is gunna have to play at least 2/3 of the damage dealing phases, and the armies that can play all three will have a clear advantage. Seems like basically every Necrons army at 1000+ points is gunna have a Nightbringer or Voiddragon at this point.

For tau, it will take a bare minimum of four rounds to kill, and if in one shooting phase they do two or less wounds, it will take all five. Gonna have to just run I guess? To bad this edition is all about taking the midfield (which to be fair, the tau are already struggling a bit with)

C’tan also have living metal so the heal a wound in the controllers command phase. That’s super hard for a shooting army.

Yeah, it's officially a coffin-nail for Guard/Tau/etc Leafblower style lists. You now must have at least some Psychic/Assault threats, and I doubt this will be the first monster that gets something like that

yeah, if I was playing Tau I might actually just ignore the C'tan altogether, and just leverage everything against the rest of the necron army... C'tan unless their movement went way up might be at least avoidable for a couple turns, and really can only kill one unit a turn after that. But yeah, tough matchup for the fishmen

And that is something to consider. Sure the C'Tans are combat monsters but locking up 350 points in a single model means you can potentially have a lot less board control, and thus fewer points coming in through the main objectives (which can make or break the game for you).
If your opponent focuses on destroying as many of your objective holding forces as possible, they can potentially win even with the C'Tan rampaging through their lines.

Hard to kill big monster and hard to kill hordes of warriors. Sounds good
