Back in town and have that 3rd thudd gun built. Battery complete! And my HH DA transfers came in this week. If I can get the time this weekend more building and base coating some HH units will come next.

Short hobby week due to a business trip, but got some good work in when I got home:
Day 71: Assembled some AOS Chaos Marauders Day 72: Assembled the rest of the Marauders Day 73: Undercoated the Marauders. Finished blocking in the SCE Vanguard Raptors, applied washes and details Day 74: Aggrellan Earth on SCE bases, cleaned up edges
Felt good to get those Vanguard Raptors done. May have bitten off more than I should chew with 20 x Chaos Marauders in one batch, but the coming days will tell!

Got in my first game in three years this past week. Horus Heresy feels like old times but I've already found a number of changes so I'm trying to make sure I get the right info in my head. Today I spray coated a number of vehicles and figs. This included adding the main colour coat for my giant Hellblaster proof model. Still haven't finished everything I've base coated the last couple of winters but it just gives me : a) a lot of choice when I finish a current project, and b) a lot less (hostile?) bare plastic staring back from the shelves. Also reminded me that my second hand FW Spartan was shy a set of doors so I will need to source a set of those. Still perfectly usable but something to keep tucked in the back of my mind. Second game is tomorrow, all things being equal.

Second game of HH done today. Lots of refinements to get a handle on but fun. Lost to Trevor (thanks for the practice games!) but then I fully expect to lose most of my games for a while anyhow. Wondering if I need to replace some of my light but fairly mobile force with something heavier hitting.

So I went a little heavier on the base coating crusade. Did my artist's proof Big Mek, another HH DA squad and a bunch of small terrain pieces. Also re-did an existing Land Raider, 2 Predators, and a couple of Rhinos to HH colours. Considered re-doing some of my 2nd edition vehicles but they have been green for so long I decided to pass. I think most of my Greenwing will stay that way and I will just confuse my opponents in HH games.

Started rummaging through my bitz boxes for marine parts. The advantage of 30+ years in this hobby is that you have LOTS of bits. Have scrounged together enough parts that I just assembled 5 DA Interemptors in robes. Also stumbled across a beaky headed sgt who now has a 32mm base. Don't remember building or buying him but there he is. My new Sicaran is looking ripe for assembly next.

All components of my Sicaran are assembled. Fairly straight forward build. Lots of options and the ability to model them to swap in and out. Last chore is to magnetize my sponsons and set the metal nail heads I use. Now I just need to find my bolt cutters!

So, my streak got to 84 days but the Chaos Marauders broke me. I came back from a work trip at Thanksgiving and couldn't find the motivation to finish them...
My work takes me out of town every second week, so I just chilled for a bit. Then I was seized by the power of Khorne and picked up the old Start Collecting Daemons of Khorne.
Day 1: Assembled three Bloodcrushers Day 2: Assembled ten Bloodletters; undercoated, Day 3: Basecoated and highlighted Bloodcrushers and Bloodletters with airbrush (Khorne Red and Mephiston Red) Day 4: Assembled base of Skullcannon/ Herald of Khorne on Bloodthrone Day 5: Assembled Skullcannon and Herald// Also got a game of Sigmar in! Day 6: Magnetized Skullcannon and Herald to allow for both variants. Then undercoated it.
I struggle working with magnets and Greenstuff but Khorne guided me. Taking a break was a good idea. Back in the saddle!
p.s. Whoever designed the Skullcrusher and Skullcannons in terms of attaching them to their bases was clearly the guy who designed the Inceptor flight stands...Used much greenstuff and pinning...

I was able to find some time where the temps lined up and I got the Sicaran and all weapons / hatches sprayed. I'm going to take a HH break for a bit. Will still be painting, but I will be focusing on a pair of large scale pieces my wife gave me last Christmas. They should make a nice Christmas scene on one of our tables or shelves. Not sure they were intended to be painted (white bisque at the moment) but I'm going to give it a shot.

Work trip to DC disrupted painting, but progress made when I was home:
Day 7: Basecoated Herald of Khorne on Blood Throne/Skull Cannon with airbrush Day 8: Highlighted both with Mephiston Red, then wash with Carraborg Crimson Day 9: Cleaned up Herald Day 10: Pivot - assembled five Khorne Blood Hounds Day 11: Undercoat the blood doggoes with airbrush Day 12: Pivot back to Khorne Bloodletters - painted horns and claws Day 13: Swords, tongues etc on Bloodletters, cleaned up their bases - good to go! Day 14: Pivoted again - assembled three Aetherwings Day 15: Undercoated Aetherwings Day 16: Basecoat Kantor Blue on Aetherwings, layered Sotek Green and Baharoth Blue (two of my fingernails looked good for a bit) Day 17: Wash on Aetherwing, painted trees and bases Day 18: Got a game in - the Aetherwings proved the adage wrong about freshly painted models dying - undercoated Yndrasta Day 19: Painted wings, armour, trees and stones on Yndrasta - used some Contrast paint on the wings, not sure but heh?
So my painting was not fantastically organized but sometimes you have to follow your joy. My Khorne Daemons are coming together nicely for Secret Santa, while the AOS league has energized me to paint Stormcasts. I picked up a bunch of second-hand unpainted SCE (looks like the Soul Wars box and Dominion). These should keep me busy until Christmas! The league format gives an incentive to paint fresh models to mix things up! At least that is my rationalization for my lack of focus...

Nothing wrong with taking a wander through your collection. I started this thinking I would go all out on one army but have, like you, decided to follow what I want to paint when I start a new project. Much more relaxing and enjoyable.

Day 20: Weapons on Yndrasta (she and her weapons sound like a Sigur Ros playlist) - went for a powerweapon effect with glazes Day 21: Washes and then Aggrellan Earth on Yndrasta, Carroborg Crimson on Khorne Bloodhounds Day 22: Details on hounds (claws, teeth and collars), Bases on hounds, wash and highlight - Job's Done! Day 23: Retributor Armour, Rakkarth Flesh, Kantor Blue and Abbadon Black on Stormcast Castigators Day 24: Clean up and then washes on Castigators; Aggrellan Earth on bases Day 25: Undercoated 10 x SCE Sequitors, Lord Arcanum on Gryph Charger, Knight Incantor and 3 x Evocators Day 26: Cleanup bases on Castigators - Job's Done! Restributor Armour and Kantor Blue on five of the Sequitors
Stormcast weeks are rewarding for me. Had some fun with Yndrastra and am looking forward to the Gryph Charger. Duncan uses like 30 paints on the Lord Arcanum on Gryph Charger, so I am hoping I have most of them.
If anyone has a spare Castigator I am ready to make an offer. I picked up a box of assembled but not painted Stormcast that had five Castigators - they come in squads of three so five is the loneliest number...The box of SCE, though, was a wonderful acquisition and has given me plenty of painting meditation over the last three months.

Day 27: Gold on five Sequitors, followed up by Rakarth Flesh on their Tabbards and Kantor Blue Day 28: Weapon handles etc plus gear//Washes Day 29: Gold on three Evocators and five more Sequitors, Washes Day 30: Cleanup on original five Sequitors - they are done! Day 31: Pivoted to assembly of three Annihilators with Grandhammers - painted them completely - boom! Day 32: AOS Tourney! Came home, rolled up sleeves and completed about a dozen steps on the Lord Arcanum on Gryph Charger Day 33: Finished off Lord Arcanum, although I still have the base to do (ran out of Aggrellan Earth)
A very productive if not well disciplined week. The Gryph Charger was a treat, following along with Duncan but combining some steps and choosing some different colours. Really happy with how the Charger's scheme came together with the final wash that tied it all together.
Will now undercoat and basecoat a Celestar Ballista and crew. Aaaand then finish the other Sequitors and Evocators...

I'm once again finally starting to get a bit of a handle on my depression. As such, I was able to put together some models a bit earlier. I'm hoping I can do more tomorrow.

Keep up the good work guys!
I've had a bad couple of months hobby wise, hardly any progress.
I did pick up a mualerfiend kit and have started the build. since it's supposed to be a siege crawler lore wise, I want it to look like it's crawling over some ruins to get to the tasty meatsnacks inside so some conversion and sculpti g will be needed. plus I gotta add some additional gore too. I have the body and legs cut and semi assembled, gotta grab more blue tack to do some mock up posing before I start cutting g and sculpting g the leg angles and joints etc.
the 10 man traitor guard are still sitting primed. haven't even started the purple under paint sketch on them yet.
but seeing you guys post over the weeks definately helps motivation wise.
