I'm once again finally starting to get a bit of a handle on my depression. As such, I was able to put together some models a bit earlier. I'm hoping I can do more tomorrow. Celebrate the wins! Hope to see across the tabletop soon!

Two days in a row! I put together a few more models today.
I should confess, yesterday I had only put together one model, but it was a leader type guy, so I felt justified in not doing more at the time. Also, I was just testing to see if this was even something I could still do.
Anyway, built 10 small guys today. That's a total of 11. Tomorrow I plan to build 3 bigger guys. After that, I'll get around to priming them. As it stands, I already have 3 of those bigger guys I mentioned primed and ready for paint, but I want to wait until I have more before I paint.
And no, I won't say what it is I'm working on. I'd rather wait until I have a bunch ready and painted before revealing it.

Well now that you've sunk the hook we will just have to wait, wriggling on the line. Personally, I love a mystery. 8)

Sorry, I didn't mean to tease. I'll be honest, I sort of feel less pressure on myself if it's more secretive. Once I have enough done, I promise I'll post some on imgur and link it here. How about this, I'm working on an Age of Sigmar force, and it's not my Ironjawz.

No pressure intended. Just my unfortunate sense of humour in play. All in your own time.

Now I'm sort of tempted to say I'm painting purple orks, and just post a picture of a empty spot on my painting table. If anyone calls me out on it, I'd mention the meme of purple orks being invisible as a defense.

I'm on a personal streak of painting every day for the last week, while dedicating exactly 0 minutes of that time to a project that I should actually be focusing on.
Go go hobby ADHD.
But hey, it's all progress right?

I forgot to mention earlier that I was able to get the bigger guys built. That's 3 days in a row!

Day 34: Cleaned up Retributor Armour on 5 x Sequitors and 3 x Evocactors Day 35: Kantor Blue on Stormcasts Day 36: Got a league game in! Picked up Aggrellan Earth and finished base on Lord Arcanum on Gryph Charger Day 37: Second coat of Kantor Blue and fixes Day 38: Rakarth Flesh on Tabards etc - lots of mistakes! Day 39: Second coats on Rakarth Day 40: Weapons, Plumes and inside of the cloaks on the SCE and cleanup - four different washes on different parts
These SCE are almost done - should get the bases finished tomorrow. Gold, Blue and Rakarth Flesh was a tough slog for me as I kept making happy little accidents that needed fixing. Still a productive week and my Sacrosant Chamber is almost ready for the table.

Got the models primed. I'll have to go back and go over them again, as when I prime by brush there is always spots I miss, or otherwise need to cover again. Sure, I could solve that problem by using a spray can, but those can't be used for half the year, and are more expensive than buying a tub of primer to apply via brush, hahaha.

Ok, so I went back over them to look for spots I missed. There was surprisingly very few missed spots, so that was good. I still had to redo a bit though. I also took the time to apply some varnish to 10 models that had been previously painted a bit more than 6 months ago (The last time I had painted something).
Quick question for you all: Is one coat of matt varnish enough protection, or should I apply a second coat?
I'm new to varnishes, and yes, I applied it via brush with a brush I designated specifically for varnish.

One coat of matte is probably fine. If you're going super thin to minimize brush strokes, a second wouldn't hurt.
I've taken to doing one coat gloss, followed by one of matte. The gloss is harder, and then I need to cut the shine. But I'm not sure how necessary it is. The stuff I hit with one coat of matte a few years ago is still fine. I put it through an airbrush, so it's quick, thin coats.

Congrats on missing only a few spots. Always nice to have less follow-up work to do.
As to the varnish, if it is a high use/contact piece I also do a gloss coat first and once completely dry I add a matte coat. Generally for low use/contact or display piece I do only the matte coat. Gloss does take a beating better than matte and I have had no aesthetic issues with the results after I top coat with matte varnish.
