There have been rumours bouncing around for a while about a new "Rogal Dorn" tank for Guard.

I haven't watched the leak video, but are they suggesting that something like a Leman Russ will be T9? Maybe a new super heavy-ish vehicle could be, but it would be a HUGE stretch to call the Russ T9. The Chaos Landraider has been uparmoured to that. Leman Russ's in the lore are notoriously good at catching shells and blowing up with everyone inside haha. T9 would definitely not be supported by the background. No it's the new "Rogal Dorn" tank that's rumored as T9, there's no pictures or anything but the few rumors that exist claim it's a large vehicle around the size of the land raider or malcador.

Well if the new tank is T9, the Baneblade better be T9 or better as well. Also a rumour about a Supreme Command unit, a new Lord Solar. Would be fitting with the lore. I actually don`t mind having old characters die off, like Creed, Kell, Pask, Yarrick, and getting new ones, makes the world more believable. Well for those wanting more 'traditional' guard forces, fear not for the Winged Hussars Attila Rough Riders are here to turn the tide.*
Depending on the number of attacks they could be rather dangerous to vehicles and monsters with the melta tips for their lances. On the other hand, looking at the models, they are likely to have at most las-pistols for ranged combat.
*Bonus points for the people buying them to kitbash the models so they actually look like the Winged Hussars.

-Leman Russ stats and weapons getting an overhaul, including apparently the Vanquisher cannon now ignoring invuls. -Heavy lascannon is nearly as nasty as the VC. -Ogryns get a buff to apparently be more like the already shown chaos Ogryn stats. -Command squad getting a rework for the new kit.

The metawatch balance slate article confirms _some_ of the balance dataslate changes will make their way into the new codex, but it didn't detail which ones, and whichever ones are not preserved are intentionally removed.
Here's my notes I wrote down from watching the latest leak video, these have my own perspective bias in them, so take with a tablespoon of salt.
Russ Turret-Mounted weapons get +1 to hit to make up for BS4+, T8 2+ W13, and can take track guards for +1 save vs D1 weapons. Several of the Russ-big-cannons looks very good, vanquisher is basically a copy-paste of Tau Railgun, Battle Cannon gets flat damage 3 and D6+3 shots, others very good too New Field Guns have "Heavy Lascannon" with D6+6 damage Ogryns Get T6 and 5W with -1 damage taken. Kasrkin have BS3+ and Hotshot Las, including baller Flat 3 damage hot-shot sniper rifle Command squad has Character protection - Can take several Regimental Advisor options to customize role/buffs Infantry Squads have some specialization, eg Cadians get extra special weapons, Catachans get exploding 6s in melee, Death Korps have unwoundable on nat 2s. Lord Solar - New Cavalry HQ, Supreme Commander, can issue 3 orders and has somewhat similar profile to Gulliman?!?!? Creed - 3 Orders, special ability to give +1S to a unit's ranged attacks, allows two command rerolls each phase instead of one

The kit looks pretty awesome, I wish they had a pic of it next to a leman russ just to compare sizes. and I like all the little greebblies that come with it like the tools and sand bags and rolls etc.

Now that's what a tank should look like. It's clearly an upgrade, but it's still at home in the army. Big fan. I'm really glad they have kept the guard's aesthetic and tech level with these updated kits. No primaris treatment for the real heroes of the imperium.
That said, and this may be a bit controversial, but they have now named battle tanks after my two least favourite primarchs. Though I'm not actually sure if the russ was named before or after they nailed down the primarch story.
Either way, bit of a downer, but you know what? That's still miles better than all the forgettable, vague descriptors they chose for the entire new space marine line.

It looks neat, i know they said it was a tank and all but in my mind i was thinking its call the Rogal Dorn it would be some slow moving mobile fort or something lol. that would fortify a position

Not that I have a "real" guard army but I have enough pieces cobbled together that I may buy a Dorn tank just to build and paint the sucker.

It's a really nice looking kit. I'm thinking that vehicles might be back in a big way with the new guard.

Be interesting to see how it fairs on the TT. Because the plan for it seems to be a mid-way vehicle between the Leman Russ and the Baneblade.
