I do agree it is not very elegant but there might be some players that can make it work. I was thinking that JT would give a +1 BS not +1 to hit so it could stack with heavy and such would have helped a fair bit too. That's something Votann players have been saying since index release, let JTs work like Tau Markerlights. Oh well.

Not when stacked up against all the other glaring problems that could be addressed. I doubt we'll see an appreciable bump in Votann winrates with these adjustments at all. It's quite interesting that Judgment Tokens don't work like this already - T'au (For the Greater Good) and Imperial Guard (Orders) had this right out the gate. Chalk it up to yet another case of 10th edition inconsistency, I suppose.

Some good changes, some bad. Aeldari are likely to remain a top army just based on composition interaction with secondaries in the edition and Votann are going to maybe get over the 40% winrate hump, yay? If they get to the 45% mark they'll be "within acceptable parameters" but are still just a obviously incomplete army as of now hopefully a codex will help them out eventually.
For marines Desolation squads died for our sins of having few competitive units early on- they are pretty much nonviable now imo compared to other choices in the index especially. Basically zero reason to use them now, but oh well at least Terminators, Dreadnoughts and Gravis units are solid with points reductions.
On Blood Angels front still don't think Sanguinary Guard are worth running, DC are good though and will compete with other CC choices for us red bois now at least. Wish there was a viable army builder available to Canadians for me ease of use without some scummy shit attached. New Recruit has some potential but is still a little early in and has a little hassle involved being only website based atm, etc.
Gonna play around with some lists though and at least this will keep us engaged a bit more until the codex. Hopefully the balance changes help keep a single army from having a 60% winrate share in the general meta. Best changes are probably Dev Wounds and Titanic.

Ah them moving to 1 list for free is fine I guess but did they fix the sub stuff yet for us? No one had a problem with their subscriptions as far as I am aware. I signed up for the year and free miniature pretty easily and have a Canadian credit card, didn't change where I subscribed from, and it was all fine. I've been a long time supporter of battlescribe (at least the community that supports it.. the dev.... less so lol) but I've gotta say the GW app is super convenient to look stuff up easily and quickly.

Still waiting for the app to update the new points. You would think GW would fix that on date of release of the balance slate.

The points were updated last Thursday. Try force-updating your app.

Ah them moving to 1 list for free is fine I guess but did they fix the sub stuff yet for us? New subscriptions are still IP-country blocked, but you can probably get around it with a VPN. I haven't bothered to deal with it yet because they were nice and gave us 1 free list in battle forge and that's enough for me for now.

I was actually able to start a new subscription through the app itself instead of the website.

I was actually able to start a new subscription through the app itself instead of the website. Confirmed, I was able to get to the checkout via the app. Looks like they gave us a loophole =)
