one question, what about coteaz, who lets you take warbands as troops who normally don't take up a FOC spot? that means we win

If you run a special character that unlocks different options as troops, for the purposes of comp scoring they count as their original unit type (ie: even troop termies count as elites for comp) In this case choices beyond three are -2 for each beyond three as well (ie: 6 termie units would be -9 comp) without corteaz they do not take up a FOC slot

I like what you proposed Shannon. I was even going to suggest the same idea for dealing with FoC changing characters and the units that change.

yeah i like the idea also
and for the warbands in the faq i only see a question where some asks if taking coteaz means they take up a FOC slot and cant no longer be taken as an elite choice ( i assume it means free FOC choice since they never take up a elite choice slot)

we're talking from a comp prospective, I even quote him before but no one saw it I guess here it is not in a quote box:
" If you run a special character that unlocks different options as troops, for the purposes of comp scoring they count as their original unit type (ie: even troop termies count as elites for comp) In this case choices beyond three are -2 for each beyond three as well (ie: 6 termie units would be -9 comp) "

And as the comp rules were written, they would count as Elites for comp scoring, being as their original unit type is Elites.
I fail to see the problem here.

i voted for no comp theres just to much work involved in trying to figure out a fair system of scoreing it. just useing my normal list of what i usualy run i score well on the comp thing...

well I think it was because before they never counted for the slot itself

that sounds reasonable that they could be considered elites that even tho they done take up an elite FOC slot they are an elites choise so could be considered elite for comp purpose, but that would mean that warbands grey knights would have worse comp then normal grey knights.
