Via BoLS just now.
There is a lot of VERY interesting info about a 40K codex we've all been dreaming about.
So we've all been saying for years that 40K desperately needs a new army and Adeptus Mechanicus has been at the top of the list for quite some time.
You 30K players have been treated to a full Ad-Mech armylist this year and it's only getting bigger, but still the "standard game" players have been left in the cold.
The following rumors have been doing the rounds for the past two days, take a look:
via Gary's anonymous source 12-29-2014
"I have a little information for you on a new 40k Faction. Ive seen artwork of two soldiers in heavy but clunky grey body armour and helm, with one wielding an odd looking plasma pistol of sorts. The most striking thing about the image, with smoke and laser fire in the background, is the draping of the red cloth beneath the shoulder plating, and a symbol of the Adeptus Mechanicus on the main figures chest. All I will add right now is the book is 85pgs with datasheets and formations." via Gary's anonymous source 12-30-2014 "The new faction is in fact Ad Mech, Skitarii. As far as I know this is still a ways out, but who knows. There is only troops and elites, with vehicles. Mostly foot soldiers, guys with spider legs, and a couple tank/spider hybrids."
"There is also a Dragoon which looks to be a dual kit with a rider on top of a bipedal machine. It has legs similar to the IG sentinels, but has a grafted human in the center of the machine. I am not as fluent in the background with the skitarii as I would like to comment much more."
BUT, the big news is that a high quality image matching the EXACT description from the first half of the rumors is also doing the rounds and we can confirm its existence. So at this point we feel comfortable putting forward the information for the community.
It looks like Ad-Mech may indeed be under development.

This could actually be pretty cool...
...but how about sisters get done first though k? You already have a full army that is needing support before you do ANOTHER new faction (Tempestus and Imperial Knights this year for example)

A couple things from Faeit: "According to the latest whispers, the Skitarri will be getting a ranged weapon called an Arc Gun, that has a good strength to take down infantry and light mech, but is also a Haywire weapon. Great weapon with huge versatility. Please remember that these are rumors. Very early rumors at their best. I would imagine a gun like this would be rather short range, but who knows at this point. via an anonymous source on Faeit 212 the plasma pistol described in your previous article is not an odd looking plasma pistol. its an arc pistol. arc weapons will be available for the skitarii in both pistol and rifle. the arc rifle is rapid fire with haywire. rifle and pistol both are s6 ap5. " and... "Its out, and now there are leaked images of the Ad Mech Skitarii to be found. Take a look at the latest leaked images that everyone seems to be talking about. Definitely some cool artwork here. My only thought is, where is the rest of the pic? lol. No symbols, and in black and white?, but definitely looks like our Ad Mech image. Here is a link to the images at Forge the Narrative www.facebook.com/ForgeTheNarrative?fref=photo "

"via an anonymous source on Faeit 212 Ive seen the model so I thought I would chime in and describe the Dunecrawler. Sorry no pictures, it was not possible.
Its a walker with 4 armoured mechanical spider legs. The crew compartment is large metal box angled in the front. There is a small robotic arm in the front with tools and drills on the appendage. The visor for the drivers inside is a slit with optical lenses on the the left hand side of the opening. The Eradication Beamer is big, and looks like a giant conversion beamer, up top there is a gunner with a heavy stubber. I don't know the optional guns, but there are a couple. One that looks like a long barreled autocannon, but has some sort of array attached to it. None of the weapon options look like standard Imperial Weapons.
I also wanted to mention, that this is a Games Workshop release, not Forgeworld."

Imagine if their new CEO is making them listen to their customer base and this is what happens...

I hope they DON'T listen to their customer base online... have you seen what poison gets spewed (often by people who freely admit they don't play the game anymore OR buy anything from GW)

I feel disturbingly tempted by these guys if they actually do exist, and I don't know what to feel about that.

From Faeit: "Its been a little bit of time, but we had lots of Admech rumors coming here not too long ago. Although we had some very detailed information, no time frame was mentioned or known by the source. Now we have a little bit more information coming in, that gives us a rumored time frame for an Adeptus Mechanicus Skitarii release. Previous Skitarii Admech Rumors natfka.blogspot.com/2015/01/adeptus-mechanicus-compilation.htmlnatfka.blogspot.com/2015/01/skitarii-dunewalker-sighted.htmlPlease remember that these are rumors. I don't know the how accurate the time frame is, but with the previous rumors (which are very credible), this very much could be the time frame to see a Skitarii release. In regards to this rumor, much of the identifying information on it had to be removed. The primary aspects though, is that an Adeptus Mechanicus army is coming soon from Games Workshop. via an anonymous source on Faeit 212 An Ad Mech playable army is being released by GW, not Forgeworld, in March. Now this timing could be off slightly, but its coming soon."

more rumours from Faeit:
"We have heard from Lords of War Gaming that the Admech release will be coming April/May, and from Harry that it will be a full release, meaning with lots of new models and units. There is a new bit out detailing the releases that may be coming out.
Lords of War is also citing two codex releases. We will have to wait to hear more on that. Please remember that these are rumors. While I do not know how solid these are, these do not mention the few units that we are very certain will be coming in these releases (Onager Dunewalker and Dragoon Walker). Lords of War is generally right on track.
Rumors Compiled by Larry Vela via Lords of War Gaming: - April/May – It’s Admech, but there will be two codices. - Tanks will be walkers. via the Birds in the Trees on Bols The Paper Products – Codex:Adeptus Mechachanicus Skitarii – Heraldry/Hobby book – Ad Mech Datacards (contains no psychic power cards) The Miniatures – Ad Mech Skitarii box – Ad Mech Myrmidon box – Energy weapon platform/ transport box (combo-kit) – Legio Cybernetica Colossus/Conqueror box (combo kit) – Magos Clampack – Secutor Clampack "

Have they played down or ruled out the Machine God being a (captured/enslaved) C'Tan?
I remember the speculation and also the one short story when the Necron fleet entered Battlefleet Gothic that pointed that this may be the case.

The Mechanicus Horus Heresy novel pointed in this direction as well, thought his was all before the Necron fluff got re-vamped (and then possibly re-vamped AGAIN)

Nooooooo, the Dragon of Mars was thought to be the Void Dragon C'tan, which the Emperor wtfpwnt on Terra, before imprisoning it on Mars in the Noctis Labyrinth; This is part of the story of the Mechanium book, and has nothing to do with a C'tan being considered the Machine God. However, it did play a part in bringing around the Mechanicus, but not of it's will. "Adept Semyon, the Guardian of the Dragon, claims that with the Dragon sealed in Mars, the Emperor orchestrated the rise of the Mechanicus, using the Dragon's dream that would trigger the creation of the first machines of the priests of Mars." The only thing that's been said, is that the Cult Mechanicus believes that the Emperor is the physical manifestation of the Machine God, and that he was responsible for setting it all up in the first place, etc, etc. Links: wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Dragon_of_Mars wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Machine_God

What Justin said basically, it's been stated a few times in multiple books as far as I remember that the Emperor is the manifestation of the machine god.
Though I can see where the confusion has stemmed from. Just remember this you heretics;
The God Emperor is the only true god, doesn't matter if you revere the machine or his holy throne he is the one true power of 40K.
