Aaaaaaaand they lost me. I think they’ll be great conversion fodder but I’m not a fan of the models themselves. I wonder if the FW Mechanicum units will make it into the 40k book… It’d make a whole whack of sense as they’re an existing product.

Some of the foot troops would make good cultists, but who would buy them for that. I guess the mechanicum has really devolved in the last 10k years

I don't hate them....that's what. I'll give them. Makes me consider doing Dark Mechanicus more than regular though.

I know they are suppose to be an imperial guard army but aren't the other robots in 40k toughness 4. Like drones and necrons?

Pretty sure they aren't 100% robots, more like bionics (from the greek for, like, kick ass).

Saw a rules translation on Facebook. On mobile so I can't post a link, but the Sicarians look....expensive.....and not good. Lots of damage output but 30-35 points per model with 2 wounds at T3 4+ is so many points that will be insta-ginned by half the game these days. Might get proven wrong by an assault transport or something, but that is feeling Pyrovore level bad at first glance.

The infiltrators with some converting would make good drone fire warriors for an all drone army

They are large bases though - not sure how well they'd fit on 28s.

From Faeit: "There are some images out now pages from Codex: Skitarii- the Onager Dunecrawler and the Skitarii Maniple (foc). These are significant, as it the "Skitarii Maniple Detachment has no HQ to show for. Lets take a look at what this is and what it could mean. Here is a link to the leaked images...they originate from 40k kings www.40kings.de/2015/04/ad-mech-codex-ist-da-alle-details-qna-in-den-kommentaren/ waaaghgaming.de/was-steht-im-codex-skitarii/ The Skitarii Maniple Compulsory 2 Troops Optional 6 Troops 4 Elites 2 Fast Attack 4 Heavy Support 1 Fortification This makes the Skitarii an optimal allied force, simply because of the minimal unit requirements to jump in with them. No HQ makes it quite easy to get what you want out of a Skitarii force. Command Benefits. Crux Mechanicus- if this is your primary detachment, you can re-roll on the Skitarii Warlord Traits and your warlord gains preferred enemy. Tireless Advance All modles from this detachment have crusader and Scout, but cannot outflank (they can if they have infiltrate or a mission special rule) For not having a dedicated transport (unless the onager has a dual unit purpose), scout + the extra movement of some units, can really get them into forward positions really fast. " and... "From this week's White Dwarf there are several formations that are revealed. One focus's on the new Sicarian units, while the other on the Ironstriders. The Skitarii are going to be a huge force multiplier as the rules for these formations and the detachments start to sink in. via ShadowWolf32387 on Faeit 212 From the White Dwarf Noteworthy stuff: Codex Skitarii is only $33. The Sicarian Killclade formation is 3 units of Sicarian Ruststalkers and a unit of Sicarian Infiltrators. The formation has a 12" range on the "Neurostatic Aura" which reduces WS, BS, I, and Ld. The formation can also run AND assault once per game on any turn after the first. Another formation is the Ironstrider Cavaliers (IC) which is two units of Sydonian Dragoons and a unit of Ironstrider Balistarii The formation has Acute Sense and Outflank It also nominates a character at the start of the first game turn and the formation re-rolls failed To Wound against that character's unit. The models in the formation are always treated as having line of sight and ignores the cover saves of intervening models. Single reserve roll to come in, the formation MUST begin in reserves, rolls begin on the first turn, and all models come in together. New Skitarii novela from Black Library. Doctrina Imperatives is actually six different imperatives, which will as other have said likely function like the Astra Militarum orders. Those who aren't the biggest fan of painting red will rejoice as there are five different color schemes shown in the Codex and not all of them are red. "
