via Captain Citadel on Spikey Bits Forums The Second combo kit for the new Mechanicus will feature tracked conveyor infantry models who resemble cybernetic terminators cut at the waist and attached to set of small triangle treads. One unit type will be heavily armored, and decked out for close quarters engagements. The second is less armored, and features two types of cannon; a plasma cannon varainat, and a larger calibre weapon. They are on 50mm bases.

Sounds like Praetorians to me! Interested to see how all this AdMech stuff gets tied together.

More from Faeit: "Kataphron Destroyers are mechanical bodies attached to track assemblies. The rumor this morning pins them as Heavy Support Choices with plasma cannon and other large heavy weaponry as options. According the same source, these may be a dual kit, with a close combat variant optional build. The Cult Mechanicus rumors are coming on strong, which makes it seem very likely that we would see its release possibly in the next couple weeks. Please remember that these are rumors. Captain Citadel had previously released descriptions of these models, and that can be read at the link. natfka.blogspot.com/2015/04/cult-mechanicus-units-revealed.htmlvia Captain Citadel on the Bols Lounge www.lounge.belloflostsouls.net/The name of the new tracked infantry models that will be releasing are Kataphron Destroyers. They are the lighter armoured tracked infantry variants that features two types of cannon; a version of the familiar plasma cannon and a newer larger tech-based calibre weapon of mysterious providence. The models themselves feature a mechanical upper body hardwired both into the track assembly and weapon arms, but can swivel at the hip whilst their power feeds are contained into rear back mounted power sources. Each miniature has the main weapon attached to their right arms which are cropped at the shoulder, and their left arms contain a smaller hand held flamer type weapon. Their heads are rife with targeting reticules and there is no organic components visible on these versions of the models. They are heavy support choices for Cult Mechanicus." and... "Giant Robots are coming, and the rumors have them in a heavy support choice with with 2 robots (with the options for more) and a controller. Large caliber cannons and a hand flamer look like the standard weapons. Check out the latest. Please remember that these are rumors. If you would like to check up on the latest rumor compilation for the Cult Mechanicus just follow the link.....http://natfka.blogspot.com/2015/04/cult-mechanicus-rumor-compilation.html via aracersss on Faeit 212 (comment section) Cult Mechanicus will feature a new robot type unit that is part Forge World Castellex, part Space Marine Centurion. Their bodies are plated armour sealed in the front much like the centurions in appearance, but with no chest mounted weapons. They are on 50mm bases and are quite larger than the Centurion models. Their heads are a giant domed EVA helmet which looks quite fantastic. There are no organic components visible the models, they are automanta. There are several armaments they come with; a larger calibre cannon in their right hand to flamer type weapon in their left. Articulated hands with finger appendages are also an option, as well as a top shoulder mounted versions of these same type weapons. "

Is anyone else saddened by the horrid looking copies of the Thanatar we're seeing in the lower right of that photo? On a higher note... those tracked guys look like they'd be great stand-ins for Rapier batteries if you left off their upper torso.

The look very bland to me, though that might be the allure. There aren't many simple style models left in this game. I think it's why I love the DE vehicles so much.

more from bolter & chainsword:
"Arc Claw is just +1 S and Haywire at Ap5, so as I suspected. Cognis flamer always does D3 in overwatch, ok I guess. Otherwise Str4 Ap 5 assault 1...meh Heavy Arc Rifle is 2 shots, str 6 haywire. Heavy grav cannon is salvo 4/6 so not bad...I don't see the point of making it Salvo if the only unit that can take it always counts as stationary though :/ The Hydraulic Claw is +2 str and it looks like it double the models attacks to a max of 10 (why add that?) it's cut off so I dunno, not sure if it doubles the charge attacks too, but it's cumbersome :/ Edit: NVM you get an I attack and it doubles the Str and no AP value....major meh there Phosphor Blaster is 24" (called it!) rapid fire str 5 ap 4 and lumagen. Nothing too surprising The plasma culverine is heavy 2 blast! So as I had hoped it is just a 2 shot plasma cannon, 6 plasma blasts from an MSU is pretty damn good actually especially if you take them with the ignore cover formation. I can't make out the Torsion Cannon...str 8 ap 1 obviously. It looks like it does D3 wounds or HP instead of 1 though so that's actually pretty awesome. "
