When was the last Space Wolf book? I thought they had a relatively new Codex. I swear it was like a year ago when MURDER FANG was the joke of 40k.

Space Marines of some type are typically every other book. It's one of those things that "Its just the way it is" sadly.

What the actual F$#!... The last 3 books that have been released have ALL been 7th ed books that honestly didn’t need any help or a re-write. Meanwhile CSM is the only in print 6th ed book. I’m just wondering how many other books will be getting re-writes before they un-F$#! themselves and write a decent CSM book.

While I agree with this ^ about CSM and think THEY should be the next dex, tyranids are also using a 6th ed dex and it was basically a copy paste of the 5th ed dex without fixing the large amount of problems - its why so many of the nid units are garbage along with so many biomorphs (and were in 6th ed and now also 7th ed). It would be a bit annoying to see SW get another 7th ed dex when these two armies are in need of being brought into 7th edition properly. So I would prefer the next 2 dexes to be CSM and nids. For nids it is a chance to fix most of the poor units rules/biomorph rules and to combine all the bits spread out over so many books, datasheets, whatever.

Tyranids are getting a new book this year. In fact I thought they were before the wolves originally, but it's looking like they're the one after (although you can never trust those rumours). Maybe I'll find a use for the OTHER half of my army that sits in foam, awaiting the day they get to join the swarm! (genestealers, raveners, warriors, termagants, hormagants, trygons - probably have over $1000 worth of models I cannot use in any sort of competitive arena - I feel your pain!)
Tzeentch Daemonkin is also rumoured to be out this year (Q4) or early next.
I have heard that no CSM basic dex will be inbound this year and that TZ Daemonkin is first. CSM in 2017.
I had earlier proposed that this would be the year for sisters as well... but I have heard exactly nothing in this regard, even with the wildly successful Raging Heroes kickstarter that is a BIG competition for any GW sisters release. I figured GW would be all over that... but.... crickets....

Some more info via BoLS.
Sources have relayed to BoLS that the Space Wolves are returning this year, but there are some big caveats:
Look for the Space Wolves to return in the first half of the year, before summer arrives. This will be a minor “reboxing release” Look for some originally limited edition models to make their way into the standard SW range. Look for mostly reboxings with updated bases and the like. There is no current word on an updated codex. So this sounds like a 1-week kind of release sandwiched in between other larger releases, similar to say the Age of Sigmar Sylvaneth release window last year, or perhaps the Grey Knight release, if there is a codex to go along with it.
But no, the Space Wolves aren’t shaping up to be a giant Tau sized miniatures and campaign book overhaul.

Well that's a bit better. I always feel sick to my stomach when Chaos rumors float around. I desperately want a new codex, but at the same time every book since 3.5 has just been a bigger and bigger disappointment. I suppose that's why I'm building my Word Bearers to be a functional 30k army first and finding 40k rules for them second.

yes, should have mentioned as Matt pointed out above - this is one of those real quick update types... like grey knights.

He has the most murder per square inch of any model...it's science!

If he gets more base attacks like the SM dreads I'll assume it's from his murder-toes

Wait are blood angels and space wolves both worse than the SM codex base stats for scouts and dreads? If so I'd add to the house rule that Space wolves also gain the stat bump to be equal.
