I haven't been keeping up with the rumours. i didn't realize they were making it an new faction.
I thought it was going to be like fall of cadia. Where its three new characters and then some formations and detachments that let you take more the one faction in them.

It's like that to a degree in that *most* of the units are from existing Codexes, but unlike the Imperial stuff the army gets a whole new set of special rules overwriting their previous ones and a full new Psychic discipline.
If anyone wants to see it in action I'm more than happy to play a friendly game with my CC list using those rules, but I absolutely agree with not allowing it in the Championship. It looks like a whole new level of slowing the game down with all those interrupts.

Also without an FAQ I would have to be inclined that all judges ruling would fall in favor of the FAQ armies so the new list is definitely getting the short end of the stick on interruptions of rules, which is totally fair in my mind but just another downside to so close to tournament play.

yeah, you get to trade power from pain and battle focus for a bunch of abilities that trigger when something (friend or foe) dies within range. It's a combination of new units, eldar, dark eldar and harlequins. It sounds like it will be something that is fairly cool (new dynamic for play) but also incredibly powerful if rumours are to be believed.
things like out of activation charges, double charges, double movement or shooting phase (scatbikes - shudder)etc.
plus a whole new spell lore, whole new set of warlord traits/relics, plus new models.
I'm just not able to get my head wrapped around that much information (which would also necessitate me buying the book - as a "preview" online doesn't guarantee accuracy) in that short of time.
hell, LVO didn't even allow fall of Cadia I at their event this past weekend.

Danny, a spoil sport would be forcing you to do Buzzgob’s stompa the way ITC does his stompa. You have to use the builder from the 6th ed book… Shannon’s ruling on the Aeldari is 100% spot on because; the Aeldari codex isn’t a new codex updating an existing print book. It’s a completely new set of rules that is combining multiple codices into one and as such falls outside of the “you get a new codex, you can re-do your list” rule. Ya the ITC's current and most recent printing on the Big Me stompa is in the apocalypse warzone Armageddon rules in the most recent apocalypse book. which is here: i.warosu.org/data/tg/img/0426/02/1442769112316.pngThis is what the ITC is using at least, as you can see in the LVO stompa army list.

Oh i understand. I personally would say something has to be out a certain amount of time before you could use it.
I just knew before you said a new codex the day of would be ok. And i didn't think this would be as bad as a new codex.
But i totally agree we should wait for it to be played or for the faq before tournaments. and i think that should be a new rule for them something has to be out a month or something.

The our for a month thing was something we used in ottawa. Meant that there were no sudden sneak attacks from an army. Especially when lists are handed in early. Imagine if all of a sudden an army came out that said "all vehicles in this army are immune to grav, melta, Lance, Armourbane, ordnance and primary weapon special rules" I know a lot of people's armies would be instantly punished if they came up against it and could not have planned for it if it came out after early bird. Do you give up your 12 points and hope you only face it once, or do you adjust your list and hope you face it repeatedly.

My understanding is that the MAJOR ( not all) ITC tournaments have a cut off date of release material. Hence why the LVO did not allow the New Cadia stuff. It feel just after the cut off. I feel like this is a fair thing. Also from the looks for things coming up Club championships will be 7th ed then maybe if we have something april/may ish that will be 7th ED. but post may you cant really plan what to play as 8th is some time in the summer, I figure the release window will be May long weekend to july long weekend.

Yep... I think that's really the only word I came up with as well after reading that...
...I'm sure Voodoo will have a few choice ones though

I’ve known (as has every other loyal CSM player) for a long time that GW doesn’t give two shits about Chaos; this is just written proof. Sad that my armies of choice have been relegated to nothing more than a plot device to sell more models for a faction GW actually supports.

This is feeling familiar.... Remind me, how did the "End Times" end for the Elves? Chaos? *cough* Not that I expected any less.

"Malekith wins" is the most stabbed in the heart I have ever felt by this company, I'm just gonna say it.
Actually, the whole bit with how they disbanded GW Canada and lied repeatedly to all the Grey Knights was the worst, but I'mma try to ignore that bit.

I feel like the T. Son plot is left some where up the the air it could be an easy, we will wait and see how well all the new T. Son and Tzench stuff sells. If it does well there will be another plot twist and if not they are mostly wiped out...
Seems like a GW thing to do
