read Visarch's rules... he has a spot that says "if Visarch is in a unit with Yvraine"
there's some tricks inbound
Maybe I'm being clueless but I'm not sure how that stuff is game breaking. He gets to do two things automatically that normally succeed on a 2+ (or equivalent), and isn't exactly tanky when it comes to absorbing wounds. The regaining wounds bit is obviously great, but the characters themselves aren't particularly tough. That said, I don't play much anymore, so I may just be missing the obvious.

not saying he's game breaking... at all... in fact on the surface he seems kind of lackluster...
I just noticed a spot in his rules that allows him to do something he normally wouldn't be able to
so I'm sensing a formation that is a little tricksy

Am I missing something here.

I seriously just looked at "infantry (character)" and went "oh that's not so bad" I was totally wrong on that one!

Alissa picked up the book today, there is some very solid stuff in there. The new "Black" guardian units that come with a free webway portal are pretty gross. You can take guardian, windrider guardian, warwalkers and vipers as elite slots and give them free no scatter deep strike for a small point bump.
Everything just got more mobile, which is saying something for eldar.
Also one of the weakness I noticed while reading the book is that you can only soulburst off non vehicles AND since you measure the distance to the models for 7" a model in a transport can not benefit from the soulburst rules as they are NOT on the table. (I'm reading it that way since the FAQ says that obsec troops etc in open top transports are not measure to objective etc so same difference)
***** WARNING NO SCATTER DEEP STRIKING RAIDERS FULL OF D-SCYTHES ARE BACK!!!!!!!

units inside transports count as off the table for measuring distances for effects.
everything I've heard confirms 100% my decision not to allow this at the club champs.
having masses of scatterbikes no scatter deep strike then potentially double shoot multiple units off the board along with everything else this is doing is just mind boggling to me from a balance standpoint.
way to go GW. You've significantly buffed the strongest codex in the game. (slow clap)

I watched both miniwargaming reviews yesterday. It could certainly get pretty gross but as a (minor) upside all Craftworld Eldar that are used with the Ynnari faction do gain Soulburst but they lose Battle Focus (and Deldar lose Power from Pain). So theres that

yeah... deepstriking double shooting D-scythes....seems a fair trade for battle focus... lol

The loss of battle focus means nothing when it opens up the potential for a unit on foot to move 12", shoot, and charge, in the same turn.

I'd like to ask, has none noticed that this special rule says absolutely 0 about it being your turn? So things like an a aeldari blade host you're opponent is going to have to be careful not to trigger them in their own turn, or else face bring charged in their shooting phase and losing a bunch of units firepower because they killed someone.

yeah, it works in your opponent's turn two if they shoot and destroy one of your units.
I just don't know what to say about this one.

Losing Battle Focus kind of sucks for things like Dire Avengers.
It does nothing to a standard tourney Eldar list that runs on Scatbikes and Wraith stuff, that are now WAY stronger while losing absolutely nothing.
My hope was that this book would open up new lists for the Eldar but it really looks like it's just gonna buff the strongest builds...
