Oh i certainly didnt mean to imply that losing battle focus was a big deal. Plopping 5 man Wych squads 9" away from the enemy with the whole army there saying "i dare you to shoot at me" is gross for sure. Was more a somewhat sarcastic comment...

So the only thing I can see that might tone down the Soulburst fest is
Soulburst "Whenever a unit is completely destoryed within 7" of one or more non-vehilce unit that consist only of models with this special rule, pick ONE of those units to make a soulburst action. You can not pick a unit that is locked in combat, falling back or have gone to ground...."
Warhost of Ynnead: If this detachment includes 7 or more units, you can select ONE additional unit to make a soulburst action each time a unit is destroyed.
So soulburst triggers at a 1-1 ratio unless you have 7 or more units then it becomes a 1-2 ratio. I guess if you can pick your targets will you can limit some of the free actions that Eldar can get. Also if you have a VERY fast assault army ( looking at you Space wolf murder pack) you can get in and multi-charge units early and shut down the actions. Also with the pinning affect maybe snipers/barrage weapons will be able to slow down those foot eldar BUT does nothing for unpinnable bikes.
I mean this is a pretty slim list of "weakness" but I can see some anti-meta lists rising based on this

multi-charging units of D-scythes... lol... go ahead
the problem is as Matt said above, this supplement just boosts the roughest eldar lists.
if you spam scatterbikes, d-scythes, webway portals (or just take the units that get free ones!) warpspiders and wraithknights you get boosted significantly.
I actually don't see anti-meta lists rising due to this. I see top tables at big and local tournaments just back to being dominated by Eldar lists again. I had hope with the diversified LVO top 10... but that was short lived.

Hordes of pink horrors is the only thing I can think of off the top of my head that can stand up to this.
If one of my or your units die you get extra attacks. OK I get more models and psykic dice if you kill my stuff. I can outlast you.

We had a realisation that it's entirely possible for two ynnari armies to complete bend each other over a barrel and have nothing left by the end of turn 2. Anything dying is just extra out of turn shooting/charges/movement. It will be insane.

Also, I think the best way to play against this army is to not kill their units, just drop them below critical mass, 2 guardians with no weapon platform don't count as a threat.

Wowee, you're right. From the lengthly summaries I read, the review seems spot on though. The storyline was just a jumble of ideas. It's like they had an idea to workshop the story, but instead of refining it, they just went with every suggestion that was shouted around the table in the first go.

When 80 can appear from reserves with no-scatter Deepstrike, I'm a little more concerned about them =P
Also, please take Shannon's advice and absolutely don't shoot my Guardians next weekend!

If 80 can appear with no scatter deepstrike, yes be concerned. But again... not in any way the worst thing they can be bringing to no scatter deepstrike beside you
....don't worry Matt... no one's going to shoot your guardians... they'll be perfectly safe!
