Per Pete's Twitter, subsequent rounds of combat will be handled like AoS with alternating activations. Also cover saves will be positive modifiers to armour.

BS/WS being static makes sense in most cases. It works very well in AOS (and I had my doubts initially) and especially for teaching new players. They're not having a flat wound roll so that retains the complexity of the varying weapons having a difficult time wounding. saying terminators are worthless when they retain their 2+ save, doubled their wounds and are no longer effectively unwieldy with their weapons? That's all improvements there.... so I'm not seeing that in the least.... they're turning them all into paladins with essentially at initiative powerfists/thunderhammers. that seems pretty damn strong to me! The end of Destroyer Weapons. It makes sense, what with normal heavy weapons capable of causing multiple wounds. I'm guessing the current D weapons will just cause more wounds than say a Lascannon. *edit* This is a good twitter feed to followMmm love me some good twitter feeds that have sneaky infos. |

The question is, how long can they keep the hype train chugging without pissing people off? Because they'll need to be careful not to upset people for the waiting.

I'm pretty convinced they'll have it out by june at the latest. They promised they'd put out an article every day until 8th came. That's a lot of content if they're going to wait a couple months.

I think 7th ed dropped july 15th of its year so that seems pretty in line

Hello everyone !!
A few small info :
-Melee is by activation (like aos) So Charger hit first then each side activate a unit to attack.
(I am not sure it needed the extra strike first after charge rule with the alternate activation from AOS. But do they have the 3" pile in move ?)
-Flyer rules are on the unit having them,so different flying rules are entirely possible.
(I like it !)
-Legion and chapter traits are still there.
-Guard will have platoon (and by extension command and comms).
-Cover is like AOS
-No D weapon
-No shooting in/out melee
-Digital and phyisical book (A LOT are printed so no shortage)
-WW exclusive commands tanks are getting rules.
-Chaos and Imperium are similar to grand alliance book but xenos are more granular.

I believe I will be able to blow the dust off my termies and dreads. Nice! And I agree with ohgodsnakes, they will probably launch by / in June as they seem more conscious of pissing off their customer base.

There's some blackout days for GW in May... when workers aren't allowed to book holidays If for some crazy reason we see this like May 1st, will the Crusade of X still be formatted as the last of the 7th ed tournaments? |

also not on a negative or positive side of things if cover works like AOS than if your FULL unit is in cover they gain +1 to their saves. kinda cool but makes cover feel a lot less important to the game...I REALLY like the Shadow war cover / run mechanism and wished it carried into 8th but we shall see how things go.
Still very very excited to see what comes out of these improvements. Again surprised we haven't seen a single rumour or change to the psychic phase yet...

The Great Crusade will be 7th edition.... however I've been provided information that we should have a clear announcement by then about 8th edition release date..... Given it's a full digital release day one (as all the basic rules are available free) we're talking the five softcover books for all the army rules - so a one week release window to drop the new edition.
...which I'm sure will be followed with a bunch of rapid fire releases such as a new starter, etc.
