Day 48: Finished basecoats on Sanguinary Guard and Sanguinary Ancient Day 49: Washes on both//Noticed Basecoated Deathwing Primaris Lieutenant who has been on my shelf//finished base colours Day 50: Cleanup and bases on Sang Guard// Washes and base on Deathwing Lieutenant Day 51: Gold on Stormcast Eternals Knight Vexillor with Banner of Apotheosis and Knight Incantor Day 52: Kantor Blue, Mephiston Red, Screamer Pink, Leadbelcher, Rakarth Flesh to finish basecoat Day 53: Focused on banner carried by Knight Vexillor, Washes Day 54: Hair on Knight Incantor, Cleanup on both, bases - done!
A good week with 8 models completed including one who has been languishing for over a year!
I took stock again and I am sitting at just over 9000 points of painted models. I have around 600 points worth of models ready to be assembled and painted between now and Christmas. Then we see what's under the tree and see if I can get to 10,000 points...I didn't have a set goal besides getting long streaks, but I doubt I will ever be close to 10K again so I might as well go for it!

So, I kept my word, and based the 6 Horrors on Saturdat, and assembled a Zombie Dragon on Sunday. The dragon sub assemblies, with the wings not attached to the body yet, as they would get in the way otherwise. As for Monday, I cracked open the other two Terrorgheist/Zombie Dragon kits I have to assemble the Ghoul Kings to be on foot, as opposed to riding the dragon. Soon I'll prime them all, and then get back to painting the guys I have half finished.
Like I said earlier, just needed a break from painting.

Assembling models is a good change of pace. Sometimes I will make a terrain piece to avoid going stale and learn something new.

Do you scratch build terrain, or build terrain kits?

Do you scratch build terrain, or build terrain kits? Bit of both. I've been scratch-building some buildings, hedges and hills for Bolt Action and Warhammer. Nothing that would win prizes, but at least they are functional and fairly inexpensive!

21 days in a row of doing hobby related stuff. I'm proud of myself.
Tomorrow, I head to Montreal to see family for the holidays. I was worried it would be the end of my streak, but I'll try to bring a little kit with me to paint and assemble while I'm there, between mingling with family. Hopefully it goes well. Anyway, I just had to glue washers to the bottom of some bases, as the models in question would tip over if you so much as looked at them. They are now much sturdier.
The current status of what projects I have:
11 half painted small models I will work on tomorrow. 1 large model (Zombie Dragon + Ghoul King rider) assembled in sub parts and primed. 2 Ghoul Kings on foot assembled and primed (these are the guys that needed the washers).

Well done! I've been stalled on my project so I envy you your success. Good luck with the holiday hobby-ing. And remember. it's a) Christmas and, b) family. Cut yourself a little slack if progress slows a bit. Happy holidays!

I know I should cut myself some slack, no worries. I've been staying up really late recently, so will likely only do stuff after everyone else has gone to bed, hahaha.

I was on leave from work, but I was also hosting Christmas...
Day 55: Undercoated, basecoated and finished two Death Company Dreadnoughts Day 56: Undercoated and basecoated three Stormcast Eternal Praetors Day 57: Cleanup and washes on the Praetors (also got a great AOS game in) Day 58: Bases on Praetors - done! Also got a chill 40K game in! Day 59: Painted crew commander on a Bolt Action Sherman. Assembled five Vindictors Day 60: Painted tracks on Sherman - I hate painting tracks...Even though I am (was) a tanker! Day 61: Painted running gear on Sherman (in the margins of Christmas) - Sherman is done
I thought I would also get the Vindictors completed this week, but I guess this shows the difference between having time/effort based goals and results-based goals. It is easier to get disappointed and down on yourself with results-based goals. But results matter too...
On that note I have five days to finish out the year with a streak and also try to get to 10,000 points. I have had the Spartan I won at Secret Santa under the tree. Finish that by New Years plus the five Vindictors and I am there.
Still have company and things to do, but I think its feasible. The Spartan will be the decider.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Well, spending time with family ended the streak I had going. I want to start again tomorrow, but since we only got home today, we had to shovel a lot. Didn't get it all done ,so we will do more tomorrow. As such, it may be a few days before I'm good to go.
