true enough... how I used the overlord was to veil himself and a big blob of warriors in the enemy backfield, then he could keep buffing them with MWBD while the silent king gets the other two units buffed.
plus I got to shoot the tachyon arrow... which hit... AND wounded... and then the invulnerable save was made lol

well wraithknights are pretty terrible... did nothing at all in the test game I had with him on Saturday (couldn't even be bothered to blow up when he died!)
so trying out the sword and board version because I'm stubborn enough to include him still (plus he wasn't cheap!) but trying to save some points on him - using it to throw in a few more heavy weapons.
So here's Version 1:
++ Super-Heavy Auxiliary Detachment -3CP (Aeldari - Craftworlds) [21 PL, -3CP, 360pts] ++
+ Configuration +
Craftworld Attribute: Iyanden: Stoic Endurance (literally he's Iyanden so I can use the strat on him... he otherwise gets no detachment bonuses for having a craftworld because he's a superheavy aux)
Wraithknight [21 PL, 360pts]: Titanic Ghostglaive and Scattershield
++ Spearhead Detachment -3CP (Aeldari - Craftworlds) [92 PL, 9CP, 1,640pts] ++
+ Configuration +
Battle Size [12CP]: 3. Strike Force (101-200 Total PL / 1001-2000 Points)
Craftworld Attribute *Custom Craftworld*: Expert Crafters, Masters of Concealment
+ HQ +
Spiritseer [3 PL, 60pts]: 0. Smite, 4. Protect/Jinx, Shuriken Pistol Wraithseer [8 PL, 155pts]: 5: Mark of the Incomparable Hunter, D-cannon, Warlord
+ Elites +
Wraithblades [20 PL, 320pts]: Ghostaxe and Forceshield, 8x Wraithblade Wraithblades [20 PL, 280pts]: Ghostaxe and Forceshield, 7x Wraithblade
+ Heavy Support +
War Walkers [4 PL, 70pts] War Walker: Aeldari Missile Launcher, Shuriken Cannon War Walkers [4 PL, 70pts] War Walker: Aeldari Missile Launcher, Shuriken Cannon Wraithlord [7 PL, 150pts]: 2x Aeldari Missile Launcher, Ghostglaive, Shuriken Catapult, Shuriken Catapult Wraithlord [7 PL, 150pts]: 2x Aeldari Missile Launcher, Ghostglaive, Shuriken Catapult, Shuriken Catapult Wraithlord [7 PL, 145pts]: Aeldari Missile Launcher, Ghostglaive, Shuriken Catapult, Shuriken Catapult, Starcannon
+ Flyer +
Hemlock Wraithfighter [12 PL, 240pts]: 0. Smite, 4. Protect/Jinx, Spirit Stones
++ Total: [113 PL, 6CP, 2,000pts] ++
---------------------------------
Now I have an alternative idea... using Ynarri, as strength from death seems pretty decent, and the lost shroud on the wraithseer seems awesome. Losing the rerolls would hurt though. And I hate cat lady's model, so I'd have to convert something else.
But this is what that would look like:
V2
++ Super-Heavy Auxiliary Detachment -3CP (Aeldari - Craftworlds) [21 PL, -3CP, 360pts] ++
Craftworld Attribute: Iyanden: Stoic Endurance
Wraithknight [21 PL, 360pts]: Titanic Ghostglaive and Scattershield
++ Spearhead Detachment -3CP (Aeldari - Craftworlds) [94 PL, 9CP, 1,640pts] ++
Craftworld Attribute: Ynnari
+ HQ +
Wraithseer [7 PL, 135pts]: Bright Lance, Walker of Many Paths (one reroll / turn plus regain CP on 5+), Warlord The Lost Shroud (half all damage and have a 5+ FNP)
Yvraine [6 PL, 120pts]: 4. Unbind Souls, 5. Shield of Ynnead
+ Elites +
Wraithblades [20 PL, 320pts]: Ghostaxe and Forceshield, 8x Wraithblade Wraithblades [20 PL, 280pts]: Ghostaxe and Forceshield, 7x Wraithblade
+ Heavy Support +
War Walkers [4 PL, 70pts] War Walker: Aeldari Missile Launcher, Shuriken Cannon War Walkers [4 PL, 70pts] War Walker: Aeldari Missile Launcher, Shuriken Cannon Wraithlord [7 PL, 135pts]: Aeldari Missile Launcher, Flamer, Ghostglaive, Shuriken Catapult Wraithlord [7 PL, 135pts]: Aeldari Missile Launcher, Flamer, Ghostglaive, Shuriken Catapult Wraithlord [7 PL, 135pts]: Aeldari Missile Launcher, Flamer, Ghostglaive, Shuriken Catapult
+ Flyer +
Hemlock Wraithfighter [12 PL, 240pts]: 2. Storm of Whispers, Spirit Stones
++ Total: [115 PL, 6CP, 2,000pts] ++

whelp... Ynarri is out... that just doesn't give nearly the buffs necessary to do any work. although the wraithseer was a boss and lived the whole game, the loss of those crucial rerolls to everything else just to have that one tough character just wasn't worth it.

Considering the number of weapons that are wounding pretty much everything on 2+ in that list, you need those rerolls imo.
Also we did learn a lot about what not to do with that list.

yep, and I should have known how fast your list was and how it can box in an army still in the deployment zone in turn one... given I play that army too! lol
But rerolls would have made so much more impact, especially with that acquiescence strat knocking down all my attacks!

now for a more aggressive necron list.... Supreme Command - The Silent King (warlord, since he has to be) Battalion: Dynasty (custom) - eternal conquerors (everything is objective secured) - relentlessly expansionist (pregame up to 6" move) Skorpekh Lord - rarified nobility - enduring will (-1 damage), nanoscarab casket (regains 2 wounds from living metal) Chronomancer (who's job is to give the destroyers a 5++ and reroll charges) - entropic lance 10 warriors - gauss reaper 10 warriors - gauss reaper 10 warriors - gauss reaper 2 cryptothralls (one unit doesn't take up a slot) 2 cryptothralls C'tan shard of the void dragon 6 Skorpekh destroyers 6 scarabs 5 scarabs Heavy destroyer Heavy destroyer 1995 points, 14 CP (12+3 for silent king -1 for rarified nobility) So the idea is to use the cryptothralls as little, ignorable action units that can just run around and do things that no one cares about. The Silent King and Void Dragon are the biggest threats of course and will draw most of the opposing heavy firepower. The destroyers will likely draw most of the small-mid arms fire, which is why the 5++ will help, as well as getting them into combat quicker with the reroll charges. Warriors are there to camp objectives and do some actions here and there if needed, and if something gets close fire reaper shots. The heavy destroyers and entropic lance are there for monsters/vehicles and of course the void dragon takes on vehicles extremely well. Sure the nightbringer is better in pretty much every way for the exact same points. But I bought the void dragon model and it looks awesome so I'm bringing him instead Given how sucky the relics are I was kinda stuck, as veil only works on core and skorpekh lords cannot take sempirternal weave which sucks because it would make them awesome (+1 toughness and wounds) but only for nobles...sigh... so I went with paying the CP for a warlord trait on one making him take -1 damage, and took the casket to regain 2 wounds / turn. He'll double as another beatstick that's pretty hard to kill, adding an additional threat to the army. For secondaries I only giving up 5 points for bring it down... but 12 for assassinate... I'll concentrate on actions and board control given I have some disposable infantry that likely won't draw much fire, and the pregame move is great for moving into position. Plus lots of obsec

I like it. The only thing I really see was the obvious that you pointed out, which is you would do better with a Chronomancer over Szeras.

You can have 2 Chronomancers for the price of 1 Szeras Though you give up brining back 2x D3 warriors a turn....but the force multipler aspect of 2 Chronomancers is huge.

Yeah szeras is not a great choice, but he's a cool model so I gotta make a list with him at some point. Might be better with more of a silver tide... But as you say,double chronomancer is just superior for the same points

I think Chronomancers are mostly going to be seen pairing with destroyers (though warrior and Immortal buffing is still worth it). Sure they give the 5+ invul to a unit but the reroll charges is massive for our choppy tripods.
But if you have any sort of core infantry on the board? At least one technomancer is a must considering the amount of points they can put back on the board over the course of the game.

Chronomancer can almost make Warscythe Lychguard workable. T5, 2W, 5++ and rerolling charges isnt the worst profile in the world

----------------
what? no silent king? no c'tan? what madness is this?
This list is based upon doubling down on denying secondaries and being able to score points, regardless of what the opponent brings. There's three units of trashcans for lots of actions. 60 warriors for primary objectives, one of which gets teleported by the veil after getting it's Szeras buff. The doomstalkers hit on 3's now with their friend buffing them. The spider is there to lend support to the scarabs to keep them going.
so grind it down is my most vulnerable secondary due to the trashcans and spyder being the easiest kills... so terrain hopping/hiding is a must of course, but not big units so easy to hide (and I can always have them reserve in as there's lots of CP). bring it down is only worth 8 max. assassinate is only 9 and my characters are all backfield.
so I think it has some potential, not in being killy (because it's really not a deadly list) but in being a list that scores points and is hard to kill.
